The Great College Tour 2010

We made it to the first college on our Great College Tour. We were blessed with amazingly beautiful weather. One of the professors told us that last year at this time it was very cold and rainy. Today it must have been in the  70s. What a beautiful campus!

As you can see, the leaves were at their peak of color. The whole strip through central Pennsylvania was this way, and only changed to mostly greens when we dropped south of Breezewood later in the day. Grandpa and I entertained Soren while his dad and Anna went on the official college tour. Actually, Soren entertains himself. He found a large elastic band on the ground which kept him occupied for a long time, then noticed acorns all around. He said he was stuffing 'coconuts' in his pocket, until he realized that they were acorns. :-)

The bronze man, rather stiff in his later years. Soren attempting to pick his nose. (Three year old boys are so easy to entertain!) :-)

Anna and her dad, with his post-Army physique pose. LOL  Anna really enjoyed this campus, but then - who wouldn't!

Kevin and Soren on the side door steps of the beautiful chapel.

Some of the fall colors I couldn't resist. There's something about Pennsylvania barns that draw me to my camera. So many photo opportunities I missed along the way because we were driving down the Turnpike, and for some reason Kevin wouldn't stop so I could take pictures! ;-)

Who can resist reflections this gorgeous! This, like the previous pic, was taken from the campus.

Anna and Gpa, waiting until it was time for her to sit in on a class.

 Outside the chapel - again.

The steps and bridge lead across the river to the lower campus where the gymnasium and athletic fields are located.

One of the dormitories.

Inside the chapel, just a part of the huge stained glass window.

Soren, fascinated with acorns, pine needles, and stones.

Beautiful! Where are you at specifically? Loved the reflection pic! Keep having fun and enjoying yourself. We have fog this morning, although I have no clue where the required moister can from?!? We are still under a burn advisory because of the dryness. The big cool down is coming Wednesday!

Thank you, Judy, for posting about the trip! I so wish that I could be there with you all and see what Anna is seeing. This makes it a little easier to be so far away. Everyone looks like they are having a good time. I know Brogan and Soren love to put things in their pockets, but coconuts might be a bit LARGE, even for them. LOL!

Wow.. what a beautiful campus! Yea, I think I would even like to go back to school with a campus like that and I hated school!! Glad everyone is enjoying themselves! Thanks for sharing the trip with us. I love seeing the fall colors, we don't get a lot of that here in the desert!

OMGoodness, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! How in the world will Anna get any studying done amongst such beauty!! Take your breath away!! ohh, esp if you are a bronze statue with a curious little boy trying to pick your nose, that'll certainly take your breath away, LOL...I just want to eat that little Soren up, he's so cute!!

What wonderful photos!! I agree...how will Anna get any studying done? The photo of Kevie made me laugh too...a kid at heart. So glad you are enjoying your time. :)
P.S. I heard a rumor that Joe is having a hard time with someone you left behind. Yes, it's true...Samuel Peep got wind of the trip out East and you did not take him. From what I hear when Peeps stamp their feet and throw a fit, it is not a pretty sight!! Joe had all he could do to stuff Samuel back into the box. lol :D
