Zippered Clutch Purses

 Zippered Clutch Purses

Somehow, I found my way to Anna's blog  'Noodlehead' and found a great tutorial for making a cute zippered clutch.

The entire tutorial is on her blog, so there is no need to copy it here. Just visit  Anna's tutorial for the zippered clutch purse. gather your own supplies, and make up a bunch of these.

The first one was a little tricky, because I just couldn't understand the instructions about the zipper. I've put in lots of zippers, but...once you have that figured out, everything's smooth sailing. I'm not saying that her instructions were not correct, but that if you're going to make these more than once, I'd suggest writing down your own instructions (your own language, so to speak) to make it easier the second time.

I lined it with the orange and black stripe.

I loved this 'African' print, which I gave to one daughter. For the other daughter, I used musical notation fabric and instruments. It was fun choosing fabrics for these. There are some gorgeous batiks out there, and they were not expensive.

They are lovely, I'm sure your daughters loved them. The musical notes fabric is fun. I think I'd have to search out some fabric with dogs on for myself, but unfortunately I've never been keen on sewing and don't own a sewing machine!

Those are fantastic, Judy! When I was younger my grandma made me a zippered clutch.. I carried it everywhere! Wish I had saved it :(

beautiful, you are so talented. the last zipper i tried to put in, was in class in 9th grade, a side zipper in a dress. the 4th time i ripped out the zipper, i tore the dress in half and got an F for my temper tantrum. i love the back side of the ruffled one.

You did a great job, they look very professional. And choosing the fabric to suit the recipient is a great idea.

So do we see a Etsy store in your future?

What a fun project! It is nice to have a quick gift to whip up or crank out a bunch for the stash. I love this size for my cards and money. I am not much of a purse girl and it fits nicly in a pocket.

Just one more reason to wish I could sew - those are so cute, and I love how they can be personalized!

I always hated putting zipper in anything so no I won't be making a zippered clutch.

Very cute. I have limited abilities when it comes to sewing. I don't know how to sew a zipper on!

Gosh Judy I used to sew and I miss it - don't even have a working machine anymore and not sure if I would sew enough to buy one. Those were great. They will love them. sandie

I am too afraid to sew anything with a zipper, lol. I love your fabric choices, very fresh. Thanks for sharing at our party this week.
