Wisconsin Barns, Good Fences, and Treasures

At the end of March, when we were in the SW part of Wisconsin for a family funeral, that gorgeous driftless area of our state had a snowstorm. So although the day out at the cemetery was snowless, thank goodness, there was snow on the ground the next day.

These photos are from that day. This first photo reminded me of the stone walls of Yorkshire, (oooh, my favorite), and I had to share it with you. I cloned out [yes, a bit messy] the name under the mail box to protect the owners from the hoards of folks who would otherwise descend upon their property to take photos of that beautiful stone wall. :-) (We'll ignore that ugly piece of equipment in the upper right.)

Horse barn and fence in the same general area

Although we live in the beautiful rolling hills of NW Wisconsin, the Kickapoo River Valley really does have us beat for gorgeous landscape.

That is a great stone wall and looks pretty well maintained, too! Of course I always enjoy your barn shots! Thanks for sharing. I still can't process that so many are getting snow in April!! Yikes!

Oh I do love looking at the beautiful snow! And even better is seeing the green grass underneath as it melts away! Well we had one warm day and now it's winter again!

Lovely views in Wisconsin... spring has arrived here in southern Germany, but I'm pretty sure that we will have some cold and frosty weather coming.
So sorry for the loss of a loved one.

Super fence and barns photos. I love just driving or walking around shooting photos of whatever shows up. I enjoy these posts for that reason, and learning about parts of the US I have not gotten to visit.

Great photos! (We're getting a little snow here in southern New England, which, while not unheard of, is not normal for us for April.)
