Happy Birthday, Mr. C.

Oliver, trying to adjust his sunglasses

Sixty-six years ago today, Mr. C. became the sixth person in his extended family to be born on April 24. That little factoid even made The New York Times at the time.

So we celebrated Mr. C's birthday on the weekend with family here, a hayride (minus the hay), a nice walk along 5th Avenue, some food and cake, and a walk through the woods.

That little wagon would actually hold me, but I couldn't get Oliver to give it up and besides, I doubt that I could persuade his dad to pull me in the wagon.

Conquering an obstacle on the way to that stump.
(See collage above)

These photos were taken in Chippewa County last week.  It was a terrible day to try to get any decent photos, but I liked the subject matter, so I put these photos into a collage anyway.

 Old Albertville Church
Albertville, WI

I am having no success in finding out anything about the history of that church. I'd really like to know more than the fact that it is still standing in a tiny village in Chippewa County.

 Granary on the neighbor's property
I mostly took this picture for the clouds.

More scenes in the neighborhood, along 5th Avenue

This photo is best viewed through the wrong end of a telescope.

Happy Birthday to my way-better half.

He'll be so annoyed when he sees this. LOL

Happy Birthday, Mr. C! That Oliver is adorable! It looks like y'all had a marvelous weekend. That little church looks a lot like the one my great-grandparents attended. I think it still looks like that to this very day. Some things just don't need to be changed, eh?

Happy Birthday to your Mr. C...and what a cool fact about all those birthdays! Your photos are always so glorious of these barns and the beautiful countryside. Great family pics too! I think a cloudy sky is the perfect background for one of those cool old buildings...they just have so much more personality when they are surrounded by clouds.

Happy birthday to your sweetheart! As always, I love your photos - even the gray ones! You find the most interesting old buildings for us to see. I would love the history of all of them - not just the church. They probably have some great stories to tell!!

It looks like you had a splendid day celebrating your husband's birthday! Imagine that many relatives being born on the same date! I laughed out loud at your comments on the last photos of you and Mr. C. :-) Enjoy the week. Pam

Such lovely photos of family times, Judy. I like the determination of a child to get where they want to go. He looks so cute on the old stump. Happy Birthday to Mr. C ! ♥

Mr. C ROCKS MOM!! I think I will tell the New York Times that ;-) I must say that is something to have that many folks born on the same date.

Well we are very fond of April 24 in my family, too, but not because Six family members were born on the day. What a strong biological clock! Ha!

Mr. C should not be dismayed, that's a great photo! You make a wonderful couple: You are beautiful and he is handsome. You have created an amazing home and family. You serve The Lord and, really, does it get any better? Happy Birthday to him!

Happy Birthday to Mr C, I so enjoyed seeing you all out walking together and the little red wagon, so sweet!
Your countryside is beautiful, the buildings that you've captured have strength and character, there are some stories to be told in those old walls I'm sure.
Thanks for being with us again on Mosaic Monday.

Happy birthday to your Mr. C. That's a great photo of the two of you, tiny as it is. Spring looks promising there. That's an interesting church. It looks like it could use a different color on the front door and people going in and coming out of said door.

Happy birthday to your hubby, no need to be miffed with you Judy, we're a friendly bunch. :-)
I hope you find some history on the little church and why someone would paint the front steps red - they rather jump out at you!
