Every day it is something else. A couple of days ago there was fussing about the Chobani yogurt. Tonight there was questioning of sanitary conditions because a newscaster got pink eye. Have the reporters ever had kids in school in the USA, or for that matter been to work in an office lately? Pink eye is a very common illness right here in the USA, too.

I don't believe the whining and bad mouthing are coming from our athletes as much as from the media. Our news media give people throughout the world a bad impression of all Americans.

Why is the US news media working to keep countries in opposition, instead of encouraging the coming together of nations in Olympic competition? They will say anything to fan the flames of controversy for a bigger headline.
susie @ persimmon moon cottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01653330247272673990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3212581401252445388.post-26399979983890849022014-02-07T15:07:58.840-06:002014-02-07T15:07:58.840-06:00Well Canada ( the polite nation ) is doing the sam...Well Canada ( the polite nation ) is doing the same thing - all kinds of reports on how uncivilized it is over there - it's not right - the Olympics are supposed to bring nations together not drive them further apart!
I've never tried that yogurt - not sure if we have it here?
XOXOAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04867123594514649770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3212581401252445388.post-27043602358736299392014-02-07T15:07:58.579-06:002014-02-07T15:07:58.579-06:00Well Canada ( the polite nation ) is doing the sam...Well Canada ( the polite nation ) is doing the same thing - all kinds of reports on how uncivilized it is over there - it's not right - the Olympics are supposed to bring nations together not drive them further apart!
I've never tried that yogurt - not sure if we have it here?
XOXOAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04867123594514649770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3212581401252445388.post-34979009540920683282014-02-07T14:53:08.005-06:002014-02-07T14:53:08.005-06:00one of my favs. but i am trying a new thing to see...one of my favs. but i am trying a new thing to see if it helps my skin. i had heard that any dairy might mess with your skin. you know more acne & such. we will see??! I was advised to do that by my doctor who encourages all her patients to do this to cut the stress from their lives. She practices what she preaches, too. That and eating well are her two rallying points. I miss junk food more than the news! ;-)

I think that anyone in charge of the Olympics should have made every effort to make their foreign guests comfortable. Hence, give them their yogurt. That being said, I think that Americans as a whole can act like prima donnas at times. But when people need help? They can depend on America. Watching Christian TV, I notice who they are appealing to for putting in water wells and for providing food for the elderly. Still, it is embarrassing when Americans act entitled.

Love that kitty and his yogurt! In fact, better than if it had made it through customs smoothly. We don't have Chobani here, just regular Greek yoghurt by various brands, but rules are rules....it makes me wonder how long this has been going on for. If not long then they should have started working on getting customs clearance a long time ago rather than just assuming they'd be able to barrel their way through because the US is 'the most powerful nation' etc. You know it gets really old for us other countries to keep hearing American's self important statements about why they're the most important in the world. Anyway, sorry, this has turned into an anti-US rant...which is funny cos I love y'all over there! xxSamanthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07177176453011247321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3212581401252445388.post-28570417462599340292014-02-07T05:44:29.736-06:002014-02-07T05:44:29.736-06:00What a sweetie.
