We spent a month with a few days in Paris, the rest in England so there are plenty more travel posts in the line-up and I hope you'll be back. (Blogger is giving me grief on comment notifications so forgive my posting thanks here instead of directly.)

I always liked Hodgepodge and now happy it has turned to Wednesday Medley. Maybe after the holidays I'll join in -- it's a wonderful way to get to know bloggers and I loved reading your answers. I like to head for bed at 9:30pm but this week I can hardly keep my eyes open after 8pm!! I get up out of my recliner and move around, empty the dishwasher, set the table for breakfast -- anything to keep moving so I don't fall asleep too early. And take naps. I've taken a 20 minute nap in the afternoon that seems to help, too.

As for your neighbor's barn: beautiful but so scary. Looks like a bad storm could knock it down and maybe that would be a good thing so nobody goes inside and gets hurt.

Nut breads: love 'em! I understand about the things left from our children's past. It's hard to get rid of them, although today my husband went into the attic and retrieved boxes of things in preparation to give to AMVETS tomorrow. Of course we must toss Winnie the Pooh, Raggedy Ann and Andy and many more as they are in such bad shape being in the attic for years. My goodness the memories! It was perfect for cooking bacon in the oven, roasting vegetables, and many other uses. Sadly, I used it as a tray to take a meal to help out friends from church; they did return the pan to the church kitchen but someone threw it away. I suppose it didn't look like much, but it did have sentimental as well as great practical value. I've forgiven the person -- the pan was only a thing, after all -- but I don't really trust her.

Killing and eating an alligator -- wow! You are one brave woman. And homeschooling long before it was a convenient or socially acceptable thing to do -- again, you deserve a medal for bravery.

Have a wonderful rest of the week!
