A lanyard
I saw this video clip the other night on PBS and had to share it with you. I too remember being a child and sitting on a bench - at Bible camp, beside a lake, making a lanyard...

I think this is a poem that will touch every mother's heart.
I missed out - never got to make one.
ReplyDeleteIt's never too late, Ruth. :-) Actually, I think I'm going use the lanyard as one of the crafts for VBS this year. I know that I LOVED doing that when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteI remember creating those when I was younger, had them in different colors. Nice poem, thank you for sharing :-) Have a lovely Day!

I LOVE IT! Oh, the memories.......and the truth in that lovely poem. Thanks for bringing back memories and for giving me wonderful reminders of my precious MOTHER who always loved my insignificant gifts.
ReplyDeleteI would love to learn again - I remember making them and being oh so thrilled at the square column that emerged, but looking at the one above, I have no clue how I did it!
ReplyDelete(As for homemade gifts, I think I took the cake when I gave my sister, 17 years older than myself, a hat made out of a furry toilet seat cover, plastic flowers and ribbons to tie under the chin! Ack!!)
Okay, I put that comment under the wrong name (jemh) so here is the right one.
ReplyDeleteThat was wonderful! Funny too! When my daughter presents me with gifts she has made for me my heart melts to know that her beautiful hands created such a wonderful gift just for me. That brought me back to my younger years. Have a great week my friend!
