Happy Birthday, Glenniewennie and Queen Elizabeth

Glenn (AKA Glenniewennie to his pals)
and Grandpa

Two Years Old Today!
Birthday party coming soon.

 And another birthday to someone
who's just a tad older than 2
(birthday girl and her mama)

 What a young beauty
She certainly inherited the best genes

evidently not from her gr-gr grandma

Happy Birthday to Queen Elizabeth, for whom I have such great admiration. Duty, honor, country seem to sum up her life of service to the United Kingdom. Who would want to take on the huge responsibility she did at such a young age, only 26 years old, when her father died and she ascended the throne.

Official Title: "Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith."

And as my friend Beth would say, 'You'll never find that name on a coffee mug!'
And probably not 'Glenniewennie' either. :-)

  5. Your little Glen is so cute. What a fun age? I can't wait til my family moves back home. Yes, Queen Elizabeth has had board shoulders to fill the responsibilities. I wouldn 't want to be in her shoes.

  6. She has a lot of fan here in Canada and that's why I appreciate the decision of the Royal family to celebrate the jubilee not only in Great Britain but all around the world and especially in the Commonwealth countries. The bond between Canada and Queen Elizabeth has always been very strong and the jubilee is a great opportunity to celebrate her life as well as the values that we and the British have in common.

  7. The Queen is so beautiful. (As is your little grandson!)

This probably isn't very "nice" (even though I love the woman, since she was the grandmother of Alexandra Feadorovna Romanova, and there for great grandmother of OTMAA (Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, Alexei) I always thought Great Queen Victoria looked a bit like a female Alfred Hitchcock... maybe it's just me. (and my movie-buff-ed-ness):)

    :) :)
Happy birthday to both of them. They're both so beautiful. :) I agree, especially as a young woman (though truly no less now) Elizabeth is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.

  10. Great photos of family and ahhhh, the queen. My husband and I visited England some years ago, didn't see the queen but enjoyed the customary afternoon spot of tea.
