Lionel, Back From the Cat Wars

Lionel, exhausted after the Cat Wars
but still looking handsome

I think the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer are here! It's supposed to be 90 degrees by this afternoon. How crazy is that for NW Wisconsin in May!

I hope 'I'll Have Another' wins the Preakness.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

 ***

Reference to the 'cat wars' from Sophocles the Hyena, an old children's book we loved. :-)

P.S. The closest Lionel gets to Cat Wars is when he and Tuppence chase each other around the house. :-) They're both so big that it sounds like thunder!

  2. My first thought was, "oh no" thinking Lionel had had battles with other cats in your neighborhood. I really have to watch my youngest cat - I don't want her coming in with battle sores.

  3. Our summer days are here, also. But I like the beginning of summer when it is hot but dry, you know, in Arizona it is a dry heat. Have a good weekend,
    Marti

  6. Lionel is really a beautiful kitty. glad he is home safe from whatever wars he went to. right now it is 89 in the shade and i checked the sun i was sitting in by holding the thermometer in my lap and when it got to 100 i came in the AC. let the long hot summer begin. but that is normal for Florida, not where you are.

  17. Hi! WOW what a lovely kitty he is. I LOVE his eyes. The eyes of cats have always fascinated me. I'm a dog person, but cat's eyes a beautiful. We're in CO right now on our trip (I MISSED EVERYONE THIS MORNING!!!) and it is STEAMING. I am SO glad the RV has air conditioning. SO GLAD.

What a beautiful horse. So glad he won, however...is it just me...or do race horses suffer from an extreme deficiency in decent names? (LOL) I mean seriously, like non of them actually have normal names. (come to think of it horses in general are given strange names by their owners, even if they're "normal" names. Dear me, the horse I fell in love with at 10 years old was named "McQueen"!!!!! A black beauty gelding with a star on his forehead. So lovely...*cries* ok, I'm better now.)

    Have a great rest of your day. You're blog always makes me smile! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

    Blessings,
    Natalya
