This is actually a picture I borrowed from Joe. He spent five days in London and didn't turn off the date stamp on his camera. :-(((( So yes, I know the cloning job didn't work so well. I know it's difficult to ignore, but at least you can see Charing Cross Station, the bridge, the boats, and the amazing River Thames.

I think of you, oh Anglophile, when I hear about the Olympics. I'm a huge fan of The Firm, and the Jubilee was fun to watch; but I'd be off far away from the games, hunting down quaint and charming sights with you if we were there ....

ReplyDeleteif i could make it to London, i would leave the city immediately and go far out in the country to see English Gardens and old ruins and old buildings and anything not in a city. old stone houses and old stone fence, i think you are getting what i mean.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you, I wouldn't be near the Olympic Park, so many wonderful things to see in London away from there. Then of course, would have to go out to the wonderful country side...Yorkshire..Cotswolds. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat trip.. Years ago, we saw a museum- I'm thinking The British Museum comes to mine. Where ever that was...there is an open page on display - hand written manuscript of Handles's Messiah. Other thing of renown. Maybe you have been there. Have a lovely visit.

ReplyDeleteThe BBC have saturated coverage of the Olympics this week. It may be a surprise for you to know that I have never seen The Royal Albert Hall or the V & A. However every single time I'm there I end up in Trafalgar square.
