The British Museum - London
You'll probably realize that I'm getting desperate to find a theme for new Anglophile Friday posts. It's not easy, considering the fact that I've posted most of my photos already. So many of them are now doing re-runs as part of other themes. Thus, although you may have seen some of these, you will not have seen all of them, and never before have they been posted together as 'England Red.'
One thing that's always bothered me about the above photo is that you can actually see those two people in the foreground, real people who are here on my blog. Isn't that creepy, when you think about it? It's like I'm stalking them online!
Phone Box in Cambridge
And every time I see that sign, I first think it says 'ESTUARY' until I remember that it actually is 'RESTAURANT.' And then, of course, Estuary reminds me of a song that Hugh Laurie sang. (Crazy how this mind works.)
My favorite red door - in Kettlewell
Bike-in at Littlefairs in Hawes
Double Luck Takeaway - in Ripon
You can see Ripon Cathedral at the end of the street.
Hawling - in the Cotswolds
A little store in Muker
Narrowboat on the canal - Skipton
Someday...
Near Bolton Abbey
Okay, I know. I'm really smitten with phone boxes and post boxes!
in York
- in Kettlewell
- in stark contrast to the dignified beauty of York Minster
(I'll put York Minster in another post)
the gaudy York sightseeing bus!
Last, but not least...
My very favorite 'red' England photo
Kettlewell
You really notice bits of color when most everything else is made of stone.
Am I complaining?? NO. The stone is beautiful!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
As I haven't seen your photos before, it doesn't matter that they are your re-runs. I am enjoying them very much and I like your red theme.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post as always Judy!!!
ReplyDeleteReal people in photos creep me out a little too ( won't buy any art for my walls if it's real people either lol)
You really should be photographing for travel magazines - REALLY!
XOX
Enjoyed the red.
ReplyDeleteIf you're running low on photos, I guess that means you'll just have to go back, huh ...?
ReplyDeleteAs usual beautiful pictures, as you probably know I could look at pictures of our beloved England all day long. I'm not sure, have you ever did an Anglophile Friday on British doors? I love all the colors they use.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing all your beautiful photos!!
ReplyDeletei like all of these, those red telephone booths are wonderful. and Hawling is my most favorite. so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your post on Friday and seeing all of your wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteI like seeing the little bits and doorways....it's not like I've been there to see them myself.

I so enjoyed these lovely pictures! I hope you'll enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteNice post! Even if I have seen them before, it doesn't mean I remember them! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE RED!!!! Do you have a program where you can crop or clone things out of your pictures? I can clone unwanted people and things out of mine with my Creative Memories program called Memory Manager. LOVE that feature!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen those photos at all!!! I LOVE RED. When I see red a- it does make me think of England. Very nice photos... sandie
ReplyDeleteI think that Kettlewell phone box is my favourite too. We have one in Saltaire but it's not nearly so picturesque.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Love that red door and those red phone booths! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteJudy
such pretty, quaint scenes. phone booths. so cool to see these days. :)
ReplyDeletethank you for stopping by!
Your post is a Red Lover's paradise! I am smitten with this cheery bright color and hae been my entire life. As a girl I can remember my favorite red wool car coat...I think that's where my passion began.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the cheery post, my Cranberry Red friend,
Blessings,
Carolynn
Ahhhhh I do love me some red phone boxes, I see them on sale on ebay all the time and I swear that one day I will buy one... one day!!!!! I haven't seen all your photos, so it's all okay with me if you repeat :) Loved this post! Have a great weekend! Tammy xx
ReplyDeleteI love all of these, but my favorite is the one of the Cotswold cottages. Did I spell it right? Thanks so much for sharing these again.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
I wish I could have one of the red phone boxes!
ReplyDeleteRed phone boxes are the best, plus the stone cottages and churches and pubs.
ReplyDeleteJudy, these are gorgeous photos! Love the red-popping-out-of-stone theme. I could move right into that Cotswold cottage with the phone box right there.
ReplyDeleteI keep telling my husband we need a phone booth for our backyard, somehow I can't make him agree ;)
ReplyDeleteSadly we are seeing fewer and fewer of the red telephone boxes. I have one on my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteLove your English red. Miss those phone booths and the post boxes too. Brings back great memories. thanks for sharing, liz
ReplyDeleteI love the cottage in the Cotswolds, I have always wanted to go there because I used to read the Thrush Green books, did you ever read those? Lovely pictures, they look new when they are in a different arrangement!
ReplyDeleteI also try to put in at least one photo that I haven't included before. In this case, it was the British Museum photo. Not sure about the Hawling photo. It is like a fairy tale village!
ReplyDeleteSmiling!!!!! Thanks for visiting this morning!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally smitten with phone and post boxes too : )
ReplyDeleteAs an aside, this past weekend we were in hubs college fraternity house which used to have a pay phone in the hallway. The space for it is still there but obviously no phone. When we were discussing the phone in front of some current students they had no idea what we were talking about and said they thought the space was an old bathroom that had been removed. Made us feel ancient.
Love your photos!!! Makes me want to go out right now and take some of the old phone boxes and post boxes
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I visited Bolton Abbey and had a very memorable lunch there. I ate a pickle and cheese sandwich which to my amazement was a almost black looking pickle which I had never tasted before nor since.
