I've always been partial to October, but I may have to reconsider September for favorite month status. October has bright blue skies and gorgeous maples and oaks, but September is more reliable when it comes to pleasant evenings and of course, garden harvest. I used to be able to count on the second weekend in October having perfect weather for celebrating an early Thanksgiving, which we did for many years before our kids grew up and moved away. The past few years, however, the second weekend in October has been cold and wet, less than cheering.

They look like tombstones, don't they. I kinda like them.

Those flowers are still so lovely!! Glad you have had such a nice September... ours is turning out to be not too bad either. Surprisingly we haven't hit 100 all week and the mornings have been in the 60's! That's about as fall as we get around here! lol
The big "W" brings January and the new season of Downton Abbey, though, so we have that to look forward to!!

We have had a fine last few days as well.

You are so fortunate to live where you do. Beautiful views and beautiful harvest. October is my favorite, but September is a close second. It is still quite hot here; usually less humidity, but the sun blazes down, and the crackly grass bothers me. And my nose/head stays messed up.

Here in Brittany, September is considered as generally sunny, while October is rainy. And I can't wait for the corn to be removed. I have a field right behind the cottage and when the corn is higher than me I get claustrophobic... Plus, I love being able to see far away in the countryside once the corn is gone!
