Fall is fleeting! I have another post of woods photos, and then I think that's it. The plants are covered again, for we're expecting a frost tonight. We should get more days of color from the mums and salvia, if I keep them covered at night.
I spent time today taking cuttings from the jade to establish new plants from the mother plant. The mother plant, about 3' in diameter originally, is going to be left outdoors, its limbs greatly shortened, while her babies stay cozy indoors for the winter. A mother's sacrifice. And there is just a limit to the space available to house plants for the winter. As it is, there are already 16 plants brought in for the winter.

Sometimes I'm actually glad for my brown thumb. I don't have plants to worry about, even though we don't have harsh winters like you do and tropical plants are usually fine outside, all year long. The first thing I thought of when I saw the photo of the firewood up against the wooden building was termites! That would be death for the building if it was here in Florida!! Your photos are wonderful and make me happy.
ReplyDeletei love the barn and the wagon and that sweet little red bird house...so now you will have frost on your pumpkins..that is enough firewood for along winter.
ReplyDeleteThe other Dallas looks to be a sweet little town. Love your fall color. I'm still waiting and am afraid to blink because it seems to go so quickly.
ReplyDeleteI love all your photos . I saw the little red feeder. :):) You are right about fall being fleeting...I am wondering if we will get the pretty colors this year. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty place you live in... although i've gotten used to 'my dallas'' winters. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos! We are just beginning to see a little fall color here in southeastern Oklahoma. Overnight lows are just now dropping to the 40s but I've got to hurry and make room to bring in my plants soon.
ReplyDeleteHI Judy I have not been able to go to your post for the past week but have now. Lovely to see the herbs and great autumn colours in a lot of the photographs.
ReplyDeleteNo no no no no! *This* is not "the other Dallas" - the other one is "the other Dallas"! (PS I've been doing lots of gluten-free lately.)
ReplyDeleteI like the country fall scenes you captured in your photos; the gunsmith building is pure nostalgia, all the weathered wood.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous pictures. I particularly like the first one, the colours are stunning.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place! Your pictures are breathe taking. Thanks you for taking me on a mini trip.
ReplyDeleteJudy- Those are wonderful pictures. I never even knew that there was a Dallas, WI. I think I need a road trip- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteAutumn in Wisconsin is certainly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall colors, beautiful pictures. I always enjoy seeing your pictures.
ReplyDeleteI love your colors of fall. I love the little red bird house. I love the barn and the wagon. I love all of them. sandie
ReplyDeleteI don't think there is a photo more picturesque than white church steeples against the brilliance of fall colors. Loved the shot. My plants froze last night. So the pots are emptied, thanks to hubby and the pots put away for the season.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying all your fall photos. Love that church steeple amount the beautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteI have brought in all my plants and am having a hard time find room for all of them.
Oh how beautiful that golden tree looks! I love Autumn! It is my favorite time of the year! I love how the red bird house is so bright among the trees. Lovely pictures my friend! The pumpkin spice soap looks great. I will place my order soon. I love your soap! Have a great night!
ReplyDeleteMama Hen
So autumny and so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh I know the town well. You took some great pictures. Is picture 3 my sisters yard? It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo?
ReplyDeleteIn my world there's a neighborhood in Heaven that looks just like that :)
Have a wonderful Fall weekend
Hugs
Suzan
Oh these are all absolutely lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, the scenery is so, so beautiful! Fleeting, but beautiful. In the midst of winter - or even on a cold, rainy fall day like we had yesterday - a thought flits through my brain of warmer areas. But who appreciates spring more than those of us who shovel snow and shiver, to whom the first buds are SO vividly green and bring such hope? Who appreciates the colors of fall more than those of us who watch each leaf wiggle and then float down, knowing that those branches will soon be white and the skies grey?
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful pictures again. Love the church surrounded by glorious beauty, guess the way it should be. That barn is a beauty too!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Those photos are spectacular! Our leaves are almost gone here.
ReplyDeleteGreat pix! I love them all. Our weather has turned warm-70 today. So many leaves haven't even begun to turn yet.
ReplyDeleteI hate to see fall end.
Linda

ReplyDeleteThose scenes are glorious! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I love the old rustic look of everything around town! And the Fall scenes! Enjoy your week! Hugs!
