NW Wisconsin Barns - Barns and Fences

Neighborhood Barn

I grew up with a sense of needing to be productive.

Yesterday reminded me of something a friend once told me:

Her husband had come home and asked her what she'd done all day.
She had replied,
'I don't know,
But it took me all day to do it! '

and that was my day YESTERDAY!
Let's hope there's improvement today.

i love that saying - the hubby will come home & i always wonder if he see what i have done during the day?? i know i don't really go to work but i deserve a paycheck all the same. i wonder how i can work that out??! talk to the government about paychecks for men & women that work from home?!

  5. Do you think perhaps we got that work ethic from our parents and more so from our grandparents? I, too, feel that I need to do something important every day and always have that to do list.

  12. I love old barns. You have some great photos here! I have had days like that, too. You turn around and wonder where the day went. I think, for me, being raised on a farm meant that I did not have the luxury of doing nothing...and I am still not comfortable-doing nothing. I hate it when someone walks in the house and "catches me" sitting. I feel guilty- lol xo Diana

  14. Awesome barn photos. Here's a Muffy quote for you: "Since I've retired I have all day to do nothing, and some days I don't even get that done!"
    Some days are like that!!!

  16. You know that is a good way of putting things - I was raised to be productive too - I love to work and keep busy - not struggle - but I don't mind working. sandie
