Getting off the beaten path was the best idea ever. Not ones to join tour groups, we liked renting a microscopic vehicle and traveling out where there are fewer people and many sheep.
I could hardly mention sheep
without posting a photo of one, could I?
I know, you're sick of this fella.
But he's my favorite.

I never get sick of any animal an di love goats.. the odd thing to me is I can tell what country the fence is in just by looking at the photo.. so different over there on the other side of the pond. i love the barb wire and also the ancient type fencing in the UK...
Red doors are my favorites! There was a gray house with white trim and a red door on a house near my grandparents home when I was growing up. I fell in love with red doors right then and there- I must have been about 4 years old! Red has been my favorite color ever since. Love those fence pix too. They remind me of my greatgrandfather's farm.
Serious fencing indeed! I truly like these random views of fences and especially what's around or in front of. I'd say they are all creative!

Love the red door and the cottage name. I found it interesting that addresses in England were names on cottages. Nice photo of the slope of the land in Kettlewell.
I think of barbed wire (or "bob" wire, as I thought it was called when I was a child) every time I look at my right arm (Don't ask!)! I really don't mind looking at that sheep again, but I love your sass about it!
Who's sick oh him?! He's a stalwart fellow, isn't he! Well, since visiting a blog discussing various kinds of fences, I am thinking about whether they keep people in or others out. Deep thoughts for a Thursday.
I love the stone fencing and I always enjoy seeing sheep! You have some great shots and I like the creative fencing, too. It reminds me of our fencing (without the stones) that we had to do at a creek to keep our horses out of the neighbor's side when we lived in the country several years ago.
I just love those English fences, and of course the sheep too!

Barbed wire simply makes good photos! I love your sheep - how can one get tired of such a beauty? As an anglophile myself I love your photos from Yorkshire very much.
Lovely - the coiled barbed wire 'wreath' is my favorite, but I have to say the photos of Yorkshire are so beautiful. Love the hillside fencing and of course the sheep :) xo Karen

Such a variety of fences today! Love the mossy stone fence. Sheep always remind me of the "Babe" movie. Bah ram ewe ... some classic lines in that movie about sheep and sheepdogs. I won't quote my favourite because too many people here like sheep! Your sheep looks quite handsome with that windswept devil may care look ;) Wendy
