Chinese Five Spice Pork Recipe, Gluten Free Recipe

Just in case anyone forgot where their food comes from

Chinese Five Spice Pork Recipe:

Lean pork loin, cut into thin strips
Olive oil or Coconut Oil
Onion
Celery
Red Pepper (bell pepper)
Salt
Five Spice Powder
Cayenne

Stir fry the pork in oil until crispy on at least one side. Move to a plate. In the same skillet, put chopped veggies and stirfry until translucent. Don't overcook.

Add the pork back to the skillet. Heat thoroughly.

Sprinkle with Chinese Five Spice Powder, salt, and cayenne pepper.

Serve with rice or alone.

That's it. I know, it's almost like cheating it's so easy. But it is delicious!

I don't think there's anything Chinese about this, but I use a Chinese Five Spice Powder from McCormick, so...

And when you're really hungry, it's a quick dinner. Do not, I repeat: Do NOT grab a Lunchable or candybar or a donut and Mountain Dew. This is a good, nutritious meal that is EASY to make.

  8. Looking mighty good . . .
I just can't understand why there are those who prefer "the other" to a meal like yours.

One of the grandsons stopped by yesterday and the first thing he said was . . . it always smells like REAL food here! Homemade chicken soup was cooking on the stove.

    Great compliment, I thought . . .

  9. My brother was the pig man back on the farm...raising them for 4-H. That sign at the top is hilarious. I can't imagine what people think when they pull up this sign! The stir fry looks yummy.

  13. Thanks for reminding me!!
I always wondered if I actually had to slaughter my meats if I could actually eat them.

  14. I am a farm girl so I grew up knowing where all my food came from! However If I had to do the slaughtering not sure I would be such a fan of home grown meats.:)

  26. That looks very tasty :) and good food for this time of year. Don't know about there but here it's getting autumn like but still a bit warm in the air. Been home from our honeymoon a week now, we had two fantastic weeks in Greece. So now all is back to normal, and also therefore the change of my surname :) from Ason .
    Have a lovely weekend
