I used an outhouse - a true one- one time in the deep valley of a very rural Tennessee property.
ReplyDeleteJust wow is all I can say about the experience - how I appreciate my indoor plumbing and flushes!!!! : - )
Yep, up early today to vote. Great reminder. Thank you!
That's funny. You just reminded me, too, that I want to show off our vintage outhouse on our property. I do believe it is over 150 years there. Yes, do vote. And may the best man win. Deb
ReplyDeletewe had an outhouse for 3 years of my life, back in the mid fifties.. we voted last week.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! You can't complain without voting! I like reading your blog. I have family in Wisconsin and reading your blog reminds me why I miss Wisconsin. Beautiful! Kathleen in Az
ReplyDeleteGrowing up on the farm, we were not confined to an outhouse, but when we were playing outside we were expected to use it instead of coming inside for the indoor plumbing. My aunt on the other hand had only an outhouse when I was little, and you had to walk outside past a mean old rooster to get to it. I was mortified!
ReplyDeleteWhich just goes to show that I don't love EVERYTHING vintage! hahaha! Enjoy your day my friend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteStopped to vote on my way home from dropping the grands at school! It is a privilege.
ReplyDeletehave used a few. :)
ReplyDeleteMy parents have an old one in their yard and my mom has added a cute wreath to the door - I never knew an outhouse could be so "cute" :)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, Judy!
I like this! You bet I am leaving soon to vote!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the little house out back. My family used one when I was a child too many years ago now to count.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha! LOVE the title. Husband had to use an outhouse at his grandmother's house until the 1970s. She refused indoor plumbing.
ReplyDeleteWill be out to vote soon! Good reminder (and reason for voting!)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. Yes I bet we all have used an out house at one one time or other. Some fairly nice and some not so nice. MB
ReplyDeleteHeading out to vote now!
ReplyDeleteOh yes...this brings back such lovely memories of my childhood. We had outside toilets at my church when I was little...I think they were about a 4-holer...lol! I am SERIOUS folks! If anyone is familiar with the Old German Baptists Church (sometimes called Dunkards)this is how I grew up. Many of you are from the parts of the country where the churches were located...a lot in the mid-west and heartland. I also used one many times at my aunt's house
ReplyDeleteVoting in an Outhouse. What a commentary on the state of politics, still. Now I gotta go pee...
ReplyDeleteAren't you clever...posting an outhouse on election day! :-)
ReplyDeleteMade me laugh, Judy! Thanks for the chuckles!
ReplyDeleteI am glad we have moved on from outhouses!!
ReplyDeleteSurely this outhouse is not in use now!! I am heading out to vote in about an hour. Now we do not have to register this time, just present a picture I.D.
ReplyDeleteI grew up using an outhouse... don't miss it one bit.
ReplyDeleteI get to complain!
I have used out houses before...hate them. I like seeing the old ones now. I have seen where they have moved them from the hole in the ground and turned the house into a garden shed. Funny. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI really like it and I did vote early. I wished I could vote often.
ReplyDeleteouthouse/politician post, well played!
ReplyDeleteA necessary! Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo!
ReplyDeleteSo very true! Love the photo! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteHi Judy,
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by for a visit. Hubby and I are getting ready to go out to vote :-) Happy November.
Hugs and Kisses,
❤️Ana
Yes, but can I complain about all the phone calls - ohvey!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like it has glass walls.
ReplyDeleteI sure like outdoor showers, not the other as much.
My grandparents had one when I was a child.
ReplyDeleteOuthouses are not new to me but I sure don't miss them. My grandparents had a two seater at the cottage. LOL
ReplyDeleteHa, outhouses. So many stories about outhouses. :-) Stinky ones too.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors behind the outhouse! We had an outhouse when I was growing up. Used it a lot in the summer. But we had an indoor one too so didn't have to go out in the cold.
ReplyDeleteI remember those cold vintage bathrooms especially in the winter:) Hug B
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Using outhouses is not amongst my most favourite experiences. :))
ReplyDeletewe have used plenty of these. a lot of campgrounds and other places still have them! ( :
ReplyDeleteHa ha. LOVE it. I agree...no voting...no complaining.
ReplyDeleteGreat connection!
ReplyDeleteWe don't vote over there; but we still complain about your politicians...
ReplyDeleteI voted early. I still reserve the right to complain about them! Glad to see so many of the Republican wins.
ReplyDeleteDo they have some of your soap in that Outhouse to freshen up the fragrance!
