Horses, Sheep, Fences, and a Barn

I've been mostly absent from blogland, I know. I would post photos of the cousin's house that we're cleaning out, but trust me, you don't want to see them. Anyway, by the time we make the 3 hour trek, spend 2-3 days there, and come back again, there's not much energy for sitting at the desk and blogging. So that's my explanation for the absence, and if there are more gaps, it will be due to more-of-the-same.  Thanks for understanding, friends.

SO:

I enjoyed watching this little story unfold.

Can you make up a story to go with the three photos above? I'd love it if you left it in a comment. :-) I know you can do it.

 The Gathering

There aren't many green barns in our area,
and this one is a sage green. Most unusual.

  6. I like Eileen's comment...wish I was a better story teller! But when I looked at my sidebar, our thumbnail photos are right next to each other...both horses. Maybe that's where the story is! Great minds and all! haha! Hugs!

  7. You're right, there is a good story in those photos, but I'm don't have the brain power to come up with one it seems. I hope someone else does.

All your beautiful barn photos has had me thinking about what color I would paint a barn if I had one and I had settled on green, so it's nice to see one in your photo today.

  9. In my poor English a story :-)

Ooh... I could feel his soft nose and inhaled his spicy scent. I whinnied. Suddenly I wanted to trot! Far away, we together. Our little colt too. I could show him the vast fields, the streams, the blue sky above our heads. With the wind in my mane. Slowly I went on and began to graze again. My little one close to me. O, how I long for my freedom. I winnied sadly. But suddenly I saw the woman with the camera and forgot my longing. "Hey, hello woman! Do you have a snack for me? Do you have a sugar cube, a carrot or a fresh apple ..."

Ok. I LOVE your photos. They are so nice.

  11. The photos are so lovely of the animals & your area, Judy! I was smiling as I looked through them!

It just looks to me like the warm comfy scenes of our lives:

"Bye honey! Take care & have a great day!"
She kissed him goodbye & turned to find her little one ready for the day.
"Well, Sweetie, let's get started on your lessons! We need to trot over here and learn about the work on our farm."
Little one followed hesitantly, he felt nervous but there was always the promis of fun later with his friends, the lambs! It would be a lovely day!

  12. Judy, Great pictures. I love seeing horses. Those look like big work horses. I see this kind of horse in Amish areas working the fields. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  13. Hi Judy
It is nice to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and the horses and sheep are also frolicking in the green fields and longer hours of sunshine.
Hope the house clearing job goes smoothly. I know that is a lot of exhausting work!

  14. Draft horses are so majestic. I love how your photos show the size contrast between the horses and the lambs.

Happy Weekend to you ~ ^_^

  21. The green barn blends in with the rest of the environment! I think I'd rather see it painted red and popping! The three pictures are great and I think one could almost write an entire story based on a love story like that one...

No worries about being absent. We know why and our hearts are with you. Enjoyed your post!

  22. Lovely peaceful scenes. Animals always enhance a lovely fence scene!

  23. The photos are lovely as usual, dear Judy. I understand all too well about the absence. With our painting and renovations the same is happening here.
    My poor pitiful story:
Goodbye Honey, have a great day at work. I have to go and take care of the little one. Let's go and see the black faced sheep and I'll read you a story about a wonderful place called England where there are acres and acres of their cousins surrounded by beautiful dry stacked walls of gorgeous stone. ♥

  24. Story : "Here comes one of those humans that God gave dominion over the Earth to ".
"Well most of them are full of you know what and don't get what He meant" ( 2nd pic ) ? :)
"I think that we'll have to continue to follow our instincts and His Way as best that we in the animal kingdom understand and not trust every human" ( 3rd Pic )
    " Some of them get it / 23rd Psalm" ( 4th pic)

Well you asked LOL / so here was my lame attempt :)

  26. Hi, I know that there are just times when life can get so busy that it takes a leap to write and publish a post. Your photos were lovely. Take care of yourself and do what you can and no worries! Hugs, Roxy

  27. Love these precious photos! Sweet foul with its mama and cute sheep. Pretty barn too. I hope you don't tire yourself out to much with your cousin's house. Sounds like a lot of hard work. Wishing you the best.

  28. Loved the stories! Someone deserves a bar of your wonderful soap. No one does farm scenes like you.

Is there light at the end of the tunnel yet? Someone bought a home in my neighborhood that was in imminent danger of reaching the point of no return. They brought in a dumpster and there's a sluice from an upstairs window going straight to it. They have also set up a camper in the driveway so they live there. I am amazed by the process. And I am delighted by it. Lovely to see it returning to some former glory. And the house directly across the street is getting a huge facelift, too, including new sills for the barn. It's fun to see it rising slowly from its slumped condition.

  32. Welcome back---I think we all have days or weeks or months like that---busy and tired.
I too wish I could tell a wonderful story but several of the commenters did just that. Good imaginations. Action, reaction I suppose might mean babies--LOL
