I've been mostly absent from blogland, I know. I would post photos of the cousin's house that we're cleaning out, but trust me, you don't want to see them. Anyway, by the time we make the 3 hour trek, spend 2-3 days there, and come back again, there's not much energy for sitting at the desk and blogging. So that's my explanation for the absence, and if there are more gaps, it will be due to more-of-the-same. Thanks for understanding, friends.

ReplyDeleteOoh... I could feel his soft nose and inhaled his spicy scent. I whinnied. Suddenly I wanted to trot! Far away, we together. Our little colt too. I could show him the vast fields, the streams, the blue sky above our heads. With the wind in my mane. Slowly I went on and began to graze again. My little one close to me. O, how I long for my freedom. I winnied sadly. But suddenly I saw the woman with the camera and forgot my longing. "Hey, hello woman! Do you have a snack for me? Do you have a sugar cube, a carrot or a fresh apple ..."

She kissed him goodbye & turned to find her little one ready for the day.
"Well, Sweetie, let's get started on your lessons! We need to trot over here and learn about the work on our farm."
Little one followed hesitantly, he felt nervous but there was always the promis of fun later with his friends, the lambs! It would be a lovely day!

Hope the house clearing job goes smoothly. I know that is a lot of exhausting work!
Draft horses are so majestic. I love how your photos show the size contrast between the horses and the lambs.

The green barn blends in with the rest of the environment! I think I'd rather see it painted red and popping! The three pictures are great and I think one could almost write an entire story based on a love story like that one...

ReplyDeleteIs there light at the end of the tunnel yet? Someone bought a home in my neighborhood that was in imminent danger of reaching the point of no return. They brought in a dumpster and there's a sluice from an upstairs window going straight to it. They have also set up a camper in the driveway so they live there. I am amazed by the process. And I am delighted by it. Lovely to see it returning to some former glory. And the house directly across the street is getting a huge facelift, too, including new sills for the barn. It's fun to see it rising slowly from its slumped condition.
I really, really love sheep. *sigh*
