The Mind of the Creator

Our Lady and the English Martyrs
Cambridge, England

I'm posting the above photo for InSPIREd Sunday, but all week, especially with the beauty all around me in this most lovely month of May, how can I not think of God and what a loving and generous Creator he is - who gave us color and fragrance and texture and warmth (okay, maybe not Saturday) and water and green grass and such variety and beauty in plant and animal life. And that's just the beginning, of course, for he made ears to hear beautiful music and the laughter of our grandchildren, taste buds to enjoy delicious asparagus and strawberries, eyes to behold the beauty of his world, and a mind to contemplate and worship Him.

Contemplating the mind of the Creator always drives me to awe, gratitude, and worship.

 The LORD questions Job:
from Job, chapter 38:

"I will question you, and you make it known to me.
Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you have understanding.

Who determined its measurements—surely you know!
Or who stretched the line upon it?

On what were its bases sunk,
    or who laid its cornerstone,

when the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Or who shut in the sea with doors
when it burst out from the womb,
when I made clouds its garment
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
 and prescribed limits for it
    and set bars and doors,
and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther,
and here shall your proud waves be stayed’?

***
Just when I start to think it's all about me,
Job chapters 38-42 quickly remind me that
it's all about God.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!

Psalm 95:6

Have a blessed Lord's Day, friends!

Judy

I'm saddened when people don't acknowledge the majesty of God: His love created and filled the world with amazing beauty down to the tiniest detail. Praise the Lord!

A beautiful post and so well illustrated. It's hard for me to believe that someone could not see God's loving creativity in how the world is made. Makes me worship!

I'll just add an AMEN! :)

Beautiful photos here and I have always loved that passage from Job.

I recently ordered a compilation of Enoch / Jasher / Jubilees / Genesis to add to the 'old books' such as Job, and can't wait to dive in when it comes! :) These are not in the Canon but are referred to within it or in early church writings ...

Nature, our families, etc...everything reminds us "How Great Thou Art "
