I know that it's old news by now, but Rumor, that beautiful German Shepherd you see pictured above, won Best In Show in the Westminster Dog Show. I am thrilled. I'm always cheering for the German Shepherd. Isn't that a beautiful dog! German Shepherds are so loyal and smart. And I bet they don't feed her ProPlan, unless it's ProPlan Natural without wheat, corn, or soy. And I still seriously doubt it.
But did you hear that this was only the second time since 1877 that a German Shepherd has won Best in Show at the Westminster Dog Show????? How on earth can that be. Maybe they think that the other dogs will all revolt if the German Shepherd is allowed to win.

What German Shepherds do in their off time.I'm surprised that they're not out there organizing against the Westminster Dog Show.
P.S. Okay, I was just kidding. But those of you who know me already know that I love [almost all] dogs :-)

That is surprising that a German Shephard hasn't won more times because they do have good form. I've watched the competition a few times in the past, makes my spoiled dog look sad. lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dog.
ReplyDeleteBridger was so handsome. I loved a GS once, too.
ReplyDeleteSo happy he won!!! German Shepherd are my favorite!!! He is so smart and handsome:)

Yes, Rumor is a beauty for sure...but I'm a little partial to her German cousins...dachshunds :D
ReplyDeleteWe had a German Shepherd for years when I was growing up. He was one of the best dogs we ever had. He was beautiful and well-behaved and was a great protector. I sure do miss him. Yours was beautiful too. Love that picture of you and your cat. It does look like she is shocked at what you said. Too funny!!
ReplyDeleteI am hearing a little jealousy meow meow I think. Bridger is gorgeous and is much prettier than the best in show...
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous photo of your dog. And Rumor is beautiful too. I saw him when he visited a TV show the day after his big win. I too am surprised they don't win more. Love that he's such a helper dog.
ReplyDeleteMy nephew has a gorgeous Dutch Shepherd named Emma. She is a delightful, curious, and devoted dog.
ReplyDeleteBridger was gorgeous. I've never been around a German Shepherd. My blog friend KathyB at Spot on Cedar Pond has a loving and loyal GS. Like Debby Ray, I have a fondness for dachshunds. Our little Theo is chihuahua/terrier mix. I guess I love ALL animals. Sweet photo of you and kitty.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the news, I hadn't heard it. Very odd that German Shepherds haven't won more often. They are such regal dogs.
ReplyDeleteJudy, I have always thought German Shepherds were very smart dogs... That was a beautiful winner. Your dog was very pretty too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteCatching up. Just caught up with Hodge Podge - always love that!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so happy the German Shepherd won too. I've always thought they are the coolest dogs. My in-law's used to have one and now my BIL and SIL have 2 of them!
Blessings on the weekend ahead Doll! (it's almost here) ;) xoxo
Your German Shepherd was a beautiful dog. It is too bad they don't live longer. Our border collie is getting too much age on him. I was surprised to hear the German Shepherd was so unlikely to win. I see them win up in their group a lot.
ReplyDeleteWe have a niece who got to show her Irish Water Spaniel at the show this year. Didn't win, but a thrilling experience all the same.
ReplyDeleteWell, I live under a rock at the edge of the world so this news had not yet reached me. The German Shepherd is beautiful. A German Shepherd was my first pet and a sweet love. I was so thrilled to remember his name recently when I had forgotten for so long...Scout...his name was Scout. My father thought he was far too devoted to me and not the rest of the family so he was dispatched one spring day. I've never quite gotten over it. Bridger was a handsome fellow, too. I know that you hope to have another German Shepherd one day...
ReplyDeleteShe is a beautiful dog! Did you hear she is from Wisconsin? I like German Shepherds too, they are so smart. However, I have a weakness for small dogs. We had a wonderful dog, a Rat Terrier, she had a liter of puppies with a Chihuahua and we still have one of her "puppies" (now 9).
ReplyDeleteA beautiful dog indeed..Stunning

ReplyDeleteOur Sheltie Rescue also has German Shepards who protect their ranch down in Central Illinois. They are good working dogs. Stripe, a Sheltie, won the Westminster Agility 16" division. Hugs!
DeleteOh my, how handsome Bridger was . . .
ReplyDeleteMy mister Irish loves his animals, they love him too.
He gives ear rubs to all . . .
His most loved and remembered is his German Shepard from childhood.
I found a black & cream german shepherd years ago at a shelter. She was undersized, having just had a litter. Didn't look like much and was scared to death of men. When I had to take her to the vet, we always met outside on the lawn because she would wet the floor as the vet approached. She loved my Dad, son, brothers, etc., though. Gradually she grew into a big, beautiful shepherd and was such a comfort and companion to me through the years. Love the breed. Collies, too. I don't have pics of Kona, the German Shepherd, on my blog; but there are pictures of Mac, our smooth Collie. Beloved friends. I enjoy your blog very much. Do come by and see us at Prairie Cottage. Regards, Kathie D.
