1. October 3rd is National Boyfriend Day. Ladies, who was your first boyfriend?
It was definitely Roy Rogers. But we kept it a secret from Dale.
I know you've seen this before, but it's the best I can do.
Roy (left)
Dale Evans (right)
2. Who was your first celebrity crush?
Roy Rogers, of course (and after that, Tom Berenger, but I don't talk about that anymore. Both of us looked a lot better when we were in our 30s. LOL)
3. What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Boa constrictor, no kidding. It did not taste like chicken. It felt like rubber. There was no good reason to eat it except that it was huge and fed a lot of people, and something to write about in the far distant future.
The Potato Eaters,
Van Gogh
4. What famous artist, dead or alive, would you want to paint your portrait?
Perhaps Van Gogh, if it were painted a bit darker than the one above. And it would be entitlted, 'The Pistachio Nut Eaters."Somehow, this reminds me of an episode of Jeeves and Wooster. Unfortunately, I could not find it, but in my quest, I did come across a list of P.G. Wodehouse insults. "Newt-nuzzling blister" is my favorite. :-)
- I had thought it was in this one maybe.
If not, it's still a fun episode.

5. What Are You Most Likely To Stay Up All Night Talking About?
6. The new Fall season has begun on TV. Which show are you most looking forward to seeing?
I am certainly hoping that another season of The Crown shows up on Netflix soon. And when it does, I will binge watch it. I wish I had more control over this, and maybe it won't be the same without Matt Smith and Claire Foy, but...I don't watch any of the network shows except for PBS, and only occasionally. I don't know what's coming up for Masterpiece, but that would be the one I'd be most interested in. It won't be Poldark.
After reading about the new cast of The Crown, Season Four, I might just watch Seasons One and Two again.

Boa constrictor? Seriously? It makes me cringe just thinking about given I have a phobia of snakes lol. But definitely a talking point. I'm looking forward to the new season of The Crown too.
ReplyDeleteJudy, I love the Crown as well but it looks like we will have to wait a while. I think it premieres in late 2019. And I am waiting on new Victoria as well. Love both those shows.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun meme...I think I may be deciding to join soon. Perry Como was my hearth throb but I was only a little girl. He was my "man-friend" :) I don't think I will be trying any snake meat of any kind but I will gladly share my alligator nuggets with you the next time I have some. They were delish...no kidding! I'm with you on Poldark. I tried to get into it but I could never really tell if he was a good guy or a bad guy...it really is kind a dark. The new TV season does not excite me in the least because like you, I watch mostly PBS! Enjoy the rest of your week, Judy.
ReplyDeleteWhen and where did you eat boa constrictor? I haven't seen any of the Crown. They are showing it on Thursday afternoons here inner theatre but haven't taken an interest.
ReplyDeleteI fixed the comment problem I was having with Blogger and Google.
A rubbery boa constrictor does NOT sound good at all! Since we cancelled Netflix, I will have to watch The Crown at a friend's house. The only shows we watch are on Amazon Prime and PBS and we do like Poldark. I would have to say I get tired of the back and forth fickleness of their love story. I don't see how any marriage could survive that and don't believe "true" love behaves that way. The picture of you and your sister is adorable and that is the first time I've seen it. Your first Fall photo above is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteUgh to eating snake. I can barely type the word. I'm hoping for a new season of the Crown soon, too. I haven't heard anything about the new actors or events. Our television watching consists of local news and British television, seen on our public station. I don't know what's coming up for the fall season. Have a great October day!
ReplyDeleteTrying something . . .
ReplyDeleteSince I can’t remember the questions after I start writing my comments, I decided to copy your post,
answer the questions that way. I am erasing your answers and leaving mine . . ,
1. October 3rd is National Boyfriend Day. Ladies, who was your first boyfriend?
Going way back, to high school, first “boyfriend” . . . probably Junior S.
2. Who was your first celebrity crush?
I kind of liked Rock Hudson, as I think back . . ,
3. What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Not that strange, but strange to me . . . LIVER. Once was enough.
4. What famous artist, dead or alive, would you want to paint your portrait?
Van Gogh would have made it interesting.
5. What Are You Most Likely To Stay Up All Night Talking About?
Family memories
6. The new Fall season has begun on TV. Which show are you most looking forward to seeing?
Oh, I watch Dancing With the Stars . . . and stay amazed at the ttalent . . .
Grey’s Anatomy, maybe . . .
Grace and Frankie, Netflix favorite . . .
7. “Tommy and Smokey Show”, never will I miss!
Oh my, I don't have any good answers for theses questions but I did enjoy yours. our favorite show playing now is The Voice.
ReplyDeleteI think a boa constrictor would provide quite a bit of meat for a large party. I've always loved Shel Silverstein's "I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor." Maybe you could write "I've eaten a boa ...."
ReplyDeleteI've eaten octopus in Spain and ox tails in Chicago, and hubby has eaten snake, alligator and all kinds of other exotics at a carnivore restaurant in Nairobi. Glad I wasn't with him.
Tommy & Smokey - glad they have each other to keep warm. Love the gord. So pretty. So Roy Rogers was your first crush? I think mine was Paul McCartney. You ate a boa constrictor and I give you first prize. I would never eat that. So why do you love England so much? And what is The Crown about? Love, sandie
ReplyDeleteRoy Rogers and Dale, what memories!!! The 4th season of The Crown begins in Feb. And, Tommy and Smoky, how cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in!! I like Roy Rogers too, but my first crush was Paul Peterson. We really enjoy Poldark and we are loving the Durrells of Corfu, too. As I've mentioned before, Joe and I watch entirely too much TV.
ReplyDeleteOur family is looking forward to watching the next season of The Crown. I hope we're not disappointed with the new actors.
ReplyDeleteBoa constrictor? ~shudder~
Most of this went well over my head or does not compute. I have decided that you are far more erudite than I. All except for that eating snake...ewwww. Your posts are always very interesting to read.
ReplyDeleteWow, Judy, love your Roy and Dale photos! And you know I'd love watching the Tommy and Smokey Show!
ReplyDeleteI think you made the best choice ever for viewing - that sounds like my house!!! It's the Nermal, Trouble, Faith and Grace show!! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI give you credit for trying Boa...I do not think I could even taste it!!! Have a great day!
Enjoyed all of your answers. I'm not ready to start a new Wednesday thing. The Crown should be back but it will not be our favorite actors. They will change every two years from what I've heard.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Poldark? I liked it the first season .. but things started going downhill after the first.
ReplyDeleteTHE SUN IS SHINING!! Oh my goodness, I don't think it has been out since you and I walked.
Gorgeous autumn colours!
ReplyDeleteHi jumping over from Nana Diane’s blog to give you a visit! My mom loved Roy also! Great blog, loved the questions. And I love your fur babes!
ReplyDeleteInteresting questions and answers! Love that photo at the top. Today has been our first real cool crisp sunny fall day here. Love it!
ReplyDeleteBoa Constrictor. That's a new one. I'll take your appraisal of it and pass the platter on to others. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteYes, it definitely rates as interesting 'blog fodder.'
Your anticipated autumn colors are wonderful.
Oh, look at those Autumn colors in the first picture. So beautiful, Judy. Autumn has arrived here also, and it's my favorite season. That is the cutest picture of you all dressed up. Those old childhood pictures are such treasures. I can't even imagine eating boa constrictor, oh my. ; )
ReplyDeleteHappy October, Judy.
~Sheri
Love that first picture Judy, what a sight to behold! Interesting to read your answers to the questions! Now eating a boa constrictor, that was brave of you! But you lived to tell the story :D Cute pictures of you all dressed up! Enjoy this beautiful fall season :)
ReplyDeleteJeeves and Wooster is completely new to me. I watched a few minutes of the video and think it must be a British thing. LOL! And who didn't love Roy Rogers! What a cute picture of you. Such a treasure.
