Checking in on Wednesday

Here we are, Wednesday already. It seems impossible. But I thought I'd post the remaining apple photos and then move on to something else. Take a look at that tiki torch. It makes a great apple picker to reach apples, until they're so high on the tree that a ladder is necessary. The torch holds 3 apples, so I place the torch around the apple and turn it until the apple drops into it. Very handy.

A few photos of how we're camping out until the construction project is finished.

Did I already show you our makeshift kitchen? It has all the important ingredients: coffee and chocolate

And two of our regular breakfast guests. They love bringing their tea in to join us. The lavender candle is a huge draw. The purple unicorn is sitting on a box of British novels.

Autumn has begin on Fifth Avenue, my favorite place to walk.

"Oh give thanks to the LORD for he is good, for his mercy endureth forever." From Psalm 136.

I hope you've had a wonderful Wednesday.

What a great idea to use a tiki torch to pick the apples! Very clever! And I love that your kitchen has all the right ingredients. :)

Wow you have so many fresh picked apples! It's a wonderful time of the year for eating apples. I have been enjoying eating one every day and adding them to my oatmeal in the morning. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Your little unicorn is precious! Looks like you have all you need in that make-shift kitchen. When all is said and done... who really needs that massive island with the farm-house sink? Loved catching up and those apples look delicious!

You are extremely talented if you did this on your phone.
So I am confused. It looks like you have moved already.
Yet I know the apples are at the farm and that Tiki stick is a great idea.
Love the purple unicorn.

I am not sure if the construction project is at your new home or your present home . . .
It has been forever, (it seems) since I have visited.

Loved the apple pictures and your “nifty apples up high picker upper” . . .
I copied one of your apple pictures from your post a few Wednesday’s past . . .
It was a glorious photo and needs some more viewing from my side of the lake.
We visited our favorite apple orchard this week . . . Yum time for sure

Busy and Brave . . . I think that of the two of you as I read your posts.
Tackling downsizing, packing up, sorting through and moving to “living new” and constructing,
remodeling, down on your knees laying tile . . . oh my . . . the two of you, Busy and Brave.
I am amazed . . .

Wishing each of you some rest between all the projects, no broken bones, ladder falls either!
Happy Days Judy. . . I am happy to be back to you for a visit . . .
God Bless you . . . and your “work crew” . . .

A little slow here, but I am catching on as to which is which between your homes. The woodsy scenes are of the new home and the field and cows and apples are your verandah home. I think. So the tile installation is at your new home? I think your tiki torch hack is inspired. Most folks here with fruit trees actually invest in an apple ladder and even an apple picking bucket. My son didn’t though. He has a dwarf apple tree so he feels he has no concerns. Happy camping, though I am sure that you are ready for more.

You have been very busy. When it is apple time you have a huge job. Remodeling at the same time has to be overwhelming. Do take care.

Judy, beautiful and inviting photos! As Lynne said, you and Mr C are Busy and Brave! I would definitely need one of those handy apple peeling contraptions if I was going to be dealing with a lot of apples at once. Happy continuing camping!

Hubby just told me McIntosh apples are his favorite and by far the best apple there is. love the kitchenette and the visitors. I would not be able to get down on that mattress and not up at all... other than that, what else would I need.

Along with a few of your other commentors, I am not sure which house you are camping out in right now. I tend to think it may be the new one and those little dolls could be the children with whom you will share your house. Just a guess. Oh my to live near apple trees would be both fun and a lot of hard work. But, you are nifty little picker that tiki torch. Looking forward to seeing pictures of the finished renovation.

Such a clever idea to use the torch holder for apples!

That tiki torch sounds really handy. You have a lot of apples. Our son has a very, very old avocado tree in his yard. It's huge and you can't reach anything from the ground. He bought a picker thingy but hasn't used it yet. I see avocados that looks as big as the ones I buy in the store. Wow, you really are camping out! Take care.
