Although we were preparing for a blizzard, we drove to the church parking lot to listen to the bells on Sunday morning that rang out the JOY of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Even a blizzard doesn't diminish the awesomeness of that truth. He is risen! And that changes everything. From death to life, from darkness to light, from despair to HOPE.
Watching this video on my phone, I was worried a couple times that the pastor's sleeve would catch fire. But I loved the symbolism of Christ the Light of the World - then carrying the light into the dark sanctuary, as Christ brings light to the world.
"The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who lived in a land of deep darkness—
on them light has shined."
have seen a great light;
those who lived in a land of deep darkness—
on them light has shined."
From the prophet Isaiah.

And now, because I don't know how to make a good segue here,
I'll just say...
How about you?

The picture with the snow is beautiful, but I wouldn't want to be in it. Hope it melts quickly for you and things warm up. Love the last picture of the cow!!
I too would have been waiting for conflagration!
I think we have a way to go yet before we are out of the self isolation rules, and I dont mind that too much. I worry that if lockdown is lifted people will go crazy throwing parties etc, and the whole virus thing will escalate.
I am really sick of self isolation. BUT... we are safe and well, for that I'll be thankful. The snow is SO pretty but I am happy that we don't have any here. Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
I have had those days when I just didn't want to get out of bed. I'm fine then the next day. Staying safe and well is number one here. From what I've heard I don't want to get this virus.
Even someone who is an avowed homebody (me!) can get weary of being in. the. house. all. day. every. day. Just sayin' . . .
you know I love fire, so that picture is my favorite. I bet those bells were beautiful. I love church bells. we can hear to churches from where we live. I am sick to the core of isolating and not talking to strangers and friends and not going to the YMCA and fretting over whether the Y will open again, they were running in the red and this may just shut them down. they are a huge part of our day
Love that the bells range and glad that sleeve didn't catch fire!! I am a true homebody, so this time is okay with me. I still have "school work" to accomplish each morning and work at home the rest of the day. Be well :)
Snow for Easter feels so wrong, but then so much feels wrong these days. Praise God that He
never changes.
Depending on the governor, meeting in the parking lot even in your car could get you
a fine. Here, people need letters to show a police officer, should they be stopped, proving that
they need to be on the highway.
My niece has a few things to say about that. She’d make a great freedom fighter. 😏 In the meantime, I
am trying to find the lesson in all of this. It can’t be that I am a cranky old woman; I already knew that.
Blessings this week. Hope that spring finds us all!
We are having record highs here....how crazy! Take care and stay healthy this week! MMmoooooo....I mean Hugs!
Hi Judy,
It is cold this morning. Really cold, guess what? Our furnace died last night. We woke to 15 degrees outside and 54 inside. The repair guy is on the way, but I feel like I should wipe him down before he comes in. HA HA HA HA!
Praying the end of this will come soon. Oye...about snow on Easter. :)
I have a clear memory of a late April Easter when I was a kid in Chicago and going to an Easter Sunrise service in the snow. I'm guessing your snow will leave quickly and soon you'll be rejoicing in the beauty of the long-awaited spring. I am also a bit tired of being confined, even though I'm outside a lot. Just not the same. And I don't have many zoom meetings but I'm a little tired of them too, they are just not natural. BUT, we can be thankful for technology!
Liking this season of light, hope, promise
and
really tired of this isolation, distancing . . .
really
Yes, I am sick of it too. I saw someone call it a planned-demic the other day and I believe that more and more as this goes on. So sorry you had SNOW on Easter! Good golly!
Oh yes, it's hard to stay home. I am a home body but I miss just hopping in the car and doing my errands. Most of all, I miss hugs from my grandson and my daughters.
Happy Easter and Happy Spring.
Judy, as gorgeous as your gazebo photo is (subject, composition, everything perfect), it's time for green grass and flowers! Though I must say, warmer weather is going to make it even more difficult for most people to stay home and self-isolate. I decided to do a giveaway (a really good one!) on the blog to cheer everyone up. We've kind of gotten into a rhythm with this new way of living (like my positive spin?), but it is harder on my outdoorsy, active, extravert husband than on me.
"He is risen! And that changes everything. From death to life, from darkness to light, from despair to HOPE."
Amen!
I am most looking forward to when we can get back to having church services together in person!
Beautiful snowy foto - but definitely not what we're used to seeing here in East Tennessee! HOPE all is well with you!
Snow on Easter. I know I'd be hoping for green grass too. Our Easter was beautiful. I did miss the real celebration of Easter that can only come from the gathering of the physical community of saints. It loses a lot in the virtual...Thank you for sharing the lighting of the Easter Candle. Wishing you a grand weekend!
Snow! We've had very little here in Wales this time around. I can't wait for lockdown to be over :(
