The family chose this hymn for the baptismal service:

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light. 

  Be Thou my Wisdom, Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee, Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one. 

So what brings me joy today? Knowing that this child will be brought up to love and fear God, surrounded by those who will point him to Christ, the Creator and Sustainer of all life - our Rescuer.


'But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.' - Romans 5:8

'For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in Whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.'  - Colossians 1:13-14

Little Glenn has no idea right now, of course, how truly amazing and wonderful all of this is.  At this point, he pretty much just wants to know where his mom is. :-)
