A few years ago, Nature ran a special titled, Dogs That Changed the World. The most interesting part was that about Border Collies. The particular Border Collies were owned by Joe Relph from Rosthwaite in Borrowdale in the Lake District of England.
If you're a dog lover, I think you will enjoy watching this video. Move the cursor to begin the video at 42:30 and stop the video at 50:13 to get the section on Joe Relph and his Border Collies. It is a fascinating video, and scenery you won't want to miss!
I hope you enjoy it!

ReplyDeleteI love watching working dogs. When we were in Yorkshire, I got to watch a man who breeds championship Border Collies put his dogs through their paces. It was fascinating. They are such amazing creatures! Thanks for your comment!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up we had a part boarder collie part golden retriever. He was absolutely the best dog ever!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery, the dogs are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great clip!!
ReplyDeleteI am going to send this to myself and watch it this weekend. I did go to the markers and I had no idea really what these dogs could do. My family is going to Monster Trucks tomorrow and it will be perfect - thanks.
ReplyDeleteOne time my husband and I were staying at Walton Manor in England. It was surrounded by fields, and one day a man was out there working his border collie. He wasn't practicing; he was actually rounding up his sheep. It was just fascinating to watch and really made us feel that we had seen a special part of England.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fanatsic video! I watched a bit in the beginning and then watched about the Border Collies. My sisiter had a Border Collie and it was so smart and loving. She had rescued him! He had been abused so much that he had no front leg and its left front paw was bent back. She had this dog for years and when he got older she carried him up and down the stairs and in out of the house. Interesting to watch this video and see how important these working dogs are. I hope all is well with you! Have a great day!
