My dad lives in Yorkshire, East Yorkshire to be precise because it's a big county for us! He used to live in a village called Pocklington. I love saying that village name! Pocklington, Pocklington, Pocklington :)
You have some gorgeous photos. Makes me homesick for the English countryside.
Lovely!!
Now can't you just see Mr. Herriot walking through those fields - or driving through in his old battered car????
Gorgeous Judy - simply gorgeous!
Why did John move here lol?

So beautiful! I have been there once and loved the place. Thank you for sharing these awesome photos. I also remembered James Herriot... knew his books by heart as a child.
thanks for the view... this looks just like what I imagined in my mind when I spent 20 years reading historical romance novels. most of them set in England...
Such gorgeous countryside!! I wish I was going there instead of work!!! Have a great Friday, Judy!
I loved all your photos!! Makes me want to pack up and go!!
Great photos, enjoyed looking at them. We loved our holiday at the Yorkshire Moors, but this year its North Devon.
Have a Good Week

What beautiful photos of such a beautiful countryside.
Have a good weekend
I have some good friends in Yorkshire. And I keep wanting to go visit them. They came to see us a couple of years ago, and it was such fun.
XO,
Sheila
Beautiful photos. My family is all from England, my Nana was from Yorkshire. I was born in Portsmouth. I just found your lovely blog, and I will be back for more.
Lovely photos! The moors can certainly be bleak. But I remember how wonderfully James Herriot described the coming of spring and how he loved it.
Good Afternoon Judy, I used to live in Ripon, Yorkshire, many years ago and I currently live not far from there.
It was lovely to see your photographs.....Yorkshire is a beautiful county.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes
Daphne
Beautiful pics...Helena
How serene, how peaceful ... how spring-like, green instead of grey!
Gorgeous and the sheep are so cute!
We went there once, someday I have to take my daughter. She wants to do a literature tour of famous authors: Shakespeare, Austin, C.S. Lewis, Dickens, Caroll, etcetera..... and stories i.e. Arthur
How gorgeous! I love the sheep.
Wishing you a delightful weekend.
I love pictures of the English country side. I am looking around more and enjoy reading your posts.
I am new to your blog and now will be following it.
Happy Weekend

These scenes are glorious! Beautiful countryside.
Wow, how beautiful! Lovely photos - I especially like the first one. :-)
Love the sheep. Just gorgeous. They speak of a simpler time to me.
Amazing photos!!! I'm stopping by from Photo Friday blog hop.
Thanks

Judy - beautiful photos. So serene and peaceful looking.

Beautiful. My baby brother has been living in the Leeds area for the last two years and is coming home in the next few weeks! Eek!
Your pictures are just lovely and would be perfect in the cover of any Bronte sisters' book.
Wow, you are an inspiration in many ways, apologies for my typing messing your page up because that's usually one of them :-)
Photo 1 - I've been to Richmond a few times although it has usually been in the past to take my Mother out for a birthday touristic day out with a look around the shops and some food. Consequently I ashamed to say that I've never been inside the castle. However the last time I was there, which was far too long ago now, I did a walk with friends & blogged about it which I notice you've seen & commented on. Interestingly from this walk I have the reverse view of this one from the other side of the river https://picasaweb.google.com/116957894189219149935/J_on_tourJayzspaze#5500335945936752818
photo 2 - I need to stop in Reeth sometime. It always seems to be a place to pass through last on a Wensleydale, Swaledale clockwise circuit tour. I did a walk with friends on the most recent occasion further up the dale and couldn't stop then either as I had friends in the car.
photo 3- white horse ... ditto photo 2
photo 4 - love the vantage point of Grassington.
Penhill - Following you on blogger has increased my awareness of such a beautiful area at a time when my own personal journey changed to being able to spend a little more time here. Thankfully I have been able to document that over the last few years and share it with you also. Still haven't visited Bolton Castle although it's higher on the list than you think. The last time I past it on a heritage bus with friends going for a walk at Hawes. I saw a repeat programme last week on itv from Bolton Castle that made me think of you ...

The view west of Leyburn is classic that incorporates the sheep, drystone walls and that unique Yorkshire escarpment on the hillside. I can see why you use this one on your sidebar.
Lastly to whet your appetite, I was surprised & shocked to see that there were a couple of places circled on your map which is where I'm preparing my next post ... another two places I had never ever been to before. North Yorkshire is truly a journey of discovery.
Wonderful! Love all photos!
Have a wonderful weekend!

How wonderful. I love the one with the sheep and the houses and countryside in the background. Happy weekend.
Laura
Nice photos! I'll bet you could find some nice yarn somewhere in the vicinity of all those sheep!
Beautiful pastoral scenes...it would be heaven to live there.
You can't beat England's beauty, I agree with you on your favorite photo. !
How lovely! My mother is from the Midlands and I spent a month touring that part of England years ago. I loved it! Hope to get back someday and visit more.
Thanks for all the beautiful photos!
Sweeping views and such beauty! Thank you for sharing these photos on the Photo Friday Blog Hop! Hope you have a wonderful week!
I love A684, have driven on it many times. Right before you get to Leyburn you pass the Wensleydale Heifer Pub, which James Wight (aka James Herriot) spent a lot of time at. They have fantastic food.
