The Emerald Isle, St. Patrick's Day

Holsteins happy to be back in the pasture

Is Ireland really any more 'emerald' than this? Just look at all this green.  I took these photos in my neighborhood last May. Scenes like these are why I love Wisconsin, especially from May through October.

Panic among the deer
May 4, 2013 Snowstorm

I hope we don't get a snowstorm again this May. I've not been noticing deer in the fields this winter at all. It's been a tough winter for wildlife. :-(

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

  2. I love your rural spring green scenes today and enjoy seeing cows in the pastures around our area too. I'm sure they will be very delighted to get out of the barns soon everywhere! Happy Monday to you.

  3. Your farm pictures are wonderful. I like the old barn. I like to see the animals out in pastures...where they are meant to be. Those big work horse are pretty with their hairy feet. Hope you are having some warm up . It still a bit cold here...but the snow has melted away. Blessings for a great week, xoxo,Susie

  7. No, I don't think Ireland is any greener then Wisconsin! Sometimes I think we even rival London for rain and fog! Lol!

  8. Beautiful photos! The one of the cows lying down is spectacular especially! This is the only missionary holiday, by the way. We are having sleet down here in the sunny south today!

  9. I love all these green pictures, it is actually very green here in Ireland. You see it more when the sun shines, today it's sort of a bit cloudy but still nice. I sure hope you won't have any more snow storms, reckon you've had your fair share of snow this winter. Happy Monday!

I feel for the wildlife, too. It has to be horrible for them, but God knows His stuff, I guess.

  31. Beautiful pics - the greenest pastures of the like you would expect to find on the Emerald Isle Judy!
I haven't been there yet but I'm planning a visit later in the year, to find my Irish roots.
I'm working in the dairy industry here in New Zealand - there's nothing nice than walking through a paddock of contented Jersey cows - I agree!
    Hugs

  33. Judy,
The Jersey cows pictures are my favorite. I have always loved their little square shaped heads.

I can't wait to see green grass, tree buds and flowers. Thanks for reminding me spring is near.
