Duncan Coffee

'Good to the last lap!'

Last week at Bible study, I snapped this pic of my friend's Westie, drinking his favorite brew, coffee with cream. Not everybody can be a long-haired German Shepherd (see Bridger, side bar), but Duncan certainly makes up for it in unrivaled cuteness!

BTW, you'll be surprised to learn that we actually do study the Bible. It's just that now and then we do other entertaining things as well. :-)

So, I'm all ears, so to speak, and would love to hear your most recent amusing dog or cat tail  tale.

  1. Well....Winston loves to be up high when he 'cat' naps. The computer tower, the back of the couch, the dining room hutch. And he gets so relaxed he oftentimes just rolls off and lands on all fours. That's about the only funny thing 'round here. We're duds.

Love the coffee guzzlin' poochie! Darling. AND the harp!!!!!

    2. Alligator tail tasted like chickenfish to me. It was good, not gristly like boa constrictor.

  5. Hi Judy,
I have never had a dog, but am surrounded by dogs where I live. Friend Lynn has Rocky who is a stocky Rottie mix. All he wants to do is stand and guard things. He seems to have an interspecies crush on Josephine.

Whenever Lynn walks him, he heads immediately to my house and stands in front of the patio door, staring. I have seen hime do it for a half hour or more, waiting for Josephine to appear. Lynn says really, she is NOT stalking me. She accidentally dropped the leash once. And she knew right where to find him.

Josephine will let him get within 2 feet before moving. She tolerates him, but just. This all reminds me of the cartoon character Pepe le Pew -the skunk who was in love with the black and white cat!

  6. Cute picture! My story: Marshall, our Husky cross. I left pork chops on the kitchen counter to thaw. Hubby and I were in and out of the house doing stuff and so was Marshall. I was outside. Hubby came out with an empty styrofoam tray and asked "Did you have something in this because I found it on the kitchen floor?" OH NO!! Oh yes. I had to find something different for supper that night and Marshall went without his. Have a great weekend.

  15. What a cutie Duncan!!
Too many Augie stories - but a regular weekend story on my buddy -
    I'm up at 5:30 Mon.-Fri. and out the door by 6:45. I've walked and fed Augie before taking care of me. Then when I'm eating and getting ready, Augie goes back to bed!! Ruff life :-}}
Every Sat. and Sun. when I can sleep - between 7:00-7:30, Augie is sitting next to my bed, starring at me, growling real low every 15 secs. We repeat the scene every weekend. I'll cover my head with the blanket, then the pillow, I'll growl back, use my sign language to go back to his bed, then FINALLY drag myself out of bed. Love Augie dearly, but not so much so between 7:00-7:30 on Sat. and Sun.

  17. Duncan is adorable, and I'd be lappin' my coffee the same way if I didn't have a hand to hold my cup, lol. Have a great Saturday!

  18. Judy! That is the cutest thing ever! My sister left a cup of coffee that was mostly finished on a side table. When she came home from an errand, her golden was unusually perky. She looked in the cup. Empty. Guess that's why he was a happy boy!

Love it! Been thinking of you! Getter near our chapter on Guy Fawkes in history.... ;)

    Love, Heather

  19. Oh my goodness, Winston is my cup of tea, or rather in this case, my cup of coffee? I LOVE HIM!!!!!!! We want one so badly, but our busy schedules won't allow us to feel comfortable until maybe when we are retired (not long from now!) and I want one of these babies!

Judy, do you play the harp? I DO TOO! I have a Lyon and Healey lever harp that is almost pedal-sized and is lovely!

I read my bible in French for I am a French teacher. I love to speak the word in French just imagining all the different tongues of the world that praise his name. Enjoy this fabulous midwest fall weekend and thank you so much for coming to visit! Anita

  22. Well, I don't think I've ever seen a cuter caffeinated canine! Such a sweet pic! I could go on and on about my little Holly cat and all her antics, but I won't bore you. :) Although she does put up with a lot of things like me dressing her up in a tutu. ;)

  25. Awwww...that's the cutest thing! Gotta love a coffee-drinking pup!

  26. Oh, what a cutie pie!
We encountered a couple in Yellowstone last summer feeding their two dogs ice cream. They can't say the word without one of the pups going mad begging for some. Vanilla is the preferred flavor. (Thanks for visiting Sequim Daily Photo.)

  27. Cute! My Bible Study is at the church under the scrutiny of our pastor. I have to admit, we snickered one night when he came in with his shirt buttons misaligned. (his wife pointed it out:-)
My cockapoo always drinks the rest of my tea and licks the yogurt container at breakfast clean. How we do spoil our furbabies!

  28. No stories on my end but this one is very cute. I did see a funny email I think it was--apology notes written by dogs.

  30. I have a recent tale. Our little Shorkie isn't much of a traveler but we keep trying to make her one. Today we drove North to view the glorious color and Snickers went with us. She went along last week too. We stopped at Roadside Fruit/Produce stand and a Snickers bounded out the car door leading Jack somewhere. I went looking for gourd like, odd shaped pumpkins . . . I soon saw Jack searching for a plastic bag . . . oh oh . . . I knew why too. We thought the "business " had been taken care of before we left in the car. Oh no, right in the middle of one of the main aisles the tail went up and you know what happened!
When we least expect . . . it can happen!

  31. That's a cute photo of the little Westie ;) I don't think I'd want my dog sharing my cup ... he eats rabbit poop :P Wendy

  33. What a cute puppy, and I'm glad we aren't the only ones who spoil their pets! We have four cats... three in bed with us this morning, because it was past their normal breakfast time. One who NEVER licks me, started licking my face! Get up, mom, and get us some breakfast!! :)

  34. I don't have a tale...but I've had fun looking at your comments! Enjoy your weekend my friend! Hugs, Diane

  36. How very cute :-)
I don't have any pets at the moment. But use to have cats and dogs back home in Sweden. And my running companion was a hunting dog, she was such a nice dog.

  37. What a little cutie!
We've been so thrilled lately, because our rescued beagle, after a whole year, is finally showing an interest in playing with her toys and asserting herself with our two cats. And all this, without caffeine!

  38. Aww, that's a cute photo. We love Westies here at our house!

  41. Hmmmm.... I don't really have a funny Kerri story today. Lately, she has been a little diva as she scraped up a pad on her paw trying to chase a rabbit. She is very good at looking sad....

  42. How cute! Funny a dog would drink coffee, I'm guessing it's the creamer that he likes.

  43. I was wondering if the caffeine makes him more excitable :-)
