that is one of the prettiest memorials i have seen.. and thank you to your dad and father in law.. and to all living veterans and to the four leg canine veterans to. just saw that on another post
My father in law was a member of the Greatest Generation. He went ashore at Normandy at DDay plus 10...drove a truck across Europe to the Battle of the Bulge. Being German, it was not always easy for him being a member of the US Army as some soldiers were suspicious of him but I am so proud to be a member of the Grimm Family.
I happen to agree that the men of WW2 were of the Greatest Generation. My father served in the war with the Navy in the Phillipines and Hawaii. He was a wonderful and honorable man. I love you photos of your Dad and FIL, what treasures!
Those photos of your dad and father in law are priceless. So thankful for all the brave men and women who have served their countries. Speaking of winter storm watch they are even threatening us here in the Northwest with possible snow! eeeek!
This is a day to remember and be grateful for all who sacrificed and served to keep us free. I like your storm watch photo and what a beautiful memorial. And the two father photos--they are marvelous. So much to see in them of a by gone day, but so familiar to us older ones. :-)
What a great memorial that is. Thank you for posting this... it breaks my heart to think how these brave young soldiers would not believe what is happening in our country (and world) today.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Let me know if you'd like to be on the email list to know when the "Let's Talk Vintage" link party is up and ready.
God bless them for their service. My dad served in WWII as well. He was part of the first wave of troops that landed in Japan after the bombs were dropped. He never, ever talked about it.
I liked seeing your heroes. I wish we could have them all back. I miss my father and uncles. I would have loved knowing my grandparents. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
My father, too, was a member of the Greatest Generation; today we keep their memory bright... thank heavens for men like your father and father in law. I hope the storm isn't as bad as they're saying it will be, and that you stay safe and warm.
What great pictures of your dad and father-in-law. God bless our veterans! Snow, oh my! We're still recovering from last year! We're expecting snow this week too. We had a temp drop from 64 to 37 today! Stay warm.

Thankful for all the veterans who served that we might be free today. It is even cold WAY down here in TX today!
They are both very handsome men, and also brave! I hope you are hunkered down with all the comforts, and the storm passes without incident. Stay warm!
I really liked seeing the photos of dad and dad in law. They were the ones who gave up a lot. It is good to remember and to honor them.

Sometimes less is more. That is a beautifully understated post, which says so much.
So many in the military! Without them our lives would be soooo different! What happened? Did you get snow?
This is a nice hommage... And that first picture is adorable!
