I decided to go through my October photo files and pull out some you've seen and some you've not yet seen to make a few mosaics for today. The photos that make up the collages are from October 2015. The individual photos are from Octobers past. Most of the photos in the first collage were taken on Oktoberfest 2015 in our little village of Dallas.

So I'm really trying to like tea. Since I seem to be a big fan of other things English, it seemed the thing to do. Unfortunately, my Scandinavian roots are showing and my body needs coffee when I awaken in the morning. Still, I found a cute little teapot with a really nice glaze (above, right) and decided to try Irish Breakfast. (Okay, that's not English, but then I do have Yorkshire Tea and English Breakfast also.) I'll have to say, I'm still working on it.
The basket is full of lavender from the garden and the third photo in the bottom row is of peppermint from the garden. Both are drying in the kitchen. This is now the second of November and I still have unfrozen lavender growing in a pot outdoors. This is amazing weather.
Orange Shelf Fungus

Looks like candy corn, doesn't it!
We had an outstanding October this year. It's hard to see it go. I will not listen to anyone who tries to tell me that we're going to have a harsh winter.
Goats chasing my car
From October 2012
In this collage you can see the apple pie that my grandson and I made when he was here. He also arranged the leftover crust strips on a cookie sheet and baked those as well. Unfortunately, they kinda tasted burned, in my opinion. In HIS opinion, they were 'food for the heavenly host, Grandma.' No kidding. That's what he said when he took his first bite. LOL. That kid!

And finishing out, a few rural scenes along with discovering the Giveaway winners and tucking in to a nice piece of that apple pie. I hope he comes back to stay with us soon. BTW, in case you missed it, the gluten-free pumpkin spice cookies recipe is HERE. They were delicious!

Enjoyed your October recap. Such a colorful month! I especially like the last "autumnal" barn photo. I still have a cup of coffee in the morning, but the rest of the day. tea, especially in the afternoon. A "bell rings" inside me around 3 pm. I think part of it is the slowing down it causes me to do.
The picture of the barn is really beautiful...such pretty colors.
Good morning, what a wonderful October recap. I know it was a joy to have your grandson helping you out in the kitchen! And those goats chasing your down the street is just adorable. I love the pretty mums and would love to have a basket of lavender. Beautiful post and images. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!
Oh Judy I feel the same way about tea. I have LOTS of English/Scotch/Irish in me but I cannot bring myself to drink tea except when it is cold and sweet!!
love the goats, loe the barn scene, love the swinging really high in the collage,
we are set for record breaking heat today and for the next 5 days... we should be waking to 63 and high of 83 and low humidity. we woke up to 77 headed for 87 at 4 pm and humidity is oppressive. and will be the rest of the week.
this has been the hottest summer on record here, starting in April.
Gorgeous autumn colour, loved all the collages but the besst shot for me is of the goats on the road
Ha, your grandson is a riot! All lovely photos but I especially love those goats in the mist!
I always drank tea black at my grandparents so if it is hot tea, that's how I take it. Plain Earl Grey or Lipton...but the thing is that I want my coffee in the morning and after that I have little desire for tea unless it is a cold winter day and I might have some decaf in the afternoon. I enjoy seeing the tea bloggers on occasion with their pretty cups and layouts, etc though :)
Judy, enjoyed your photos and mosaics on the blog this morning. Being of German decent, tea was an afternoon ritual....3 o'clock with cookies or cakes.
I always enjoy your lovely photos! Such beauty in your area. That fungus does indeed look like candy corn!! I am not a huge tea drinker, but do enjoy it now and then. I like Earl Gray and English Breakfast. Wishing you a wonderful November!!
Beautiful autumn pictures. I love the alfalfa field, such a dramatic sky. And the goats. And that fungus is amazing. Food fit for the heavenly host? So great!
And I love tea, but it has to be coffee first thing in the a.m., too!
A lot of great photos in your collection. The goats are kind of a shock to see in the road when you first view the photo.
I always love seeing your photos, Judy. Love the goats on the run. :)
I love mosaics from the month or even the past. I need to do an Oct mosaic and show some from NC and FL. The time just gets away from me. Love seeing your Christmas soaps. I'll put them on my wish list in case Santa thinks I'm good. haha! Sweet hugs, Diane
What a great month in mosaic form! I love it, Judy. My favorite though is the goats running behind the car. I am not listening to "the hardest winter ever nay-sayers" either. xo Diana
What a lot of beautiful October collages! Those pie crust strips sounded as if they needed a little doctoring. In fact, I agree with your grandson...they can be food for the angels... with doctoring. Love those goats chasing your car!
I LOVE your Octobers!!!!! I have mint - and lots of it - still flourishing here in North Texas! I envy you and your lavender! I have tried to grow it so many times and failed. I am a HIGE tea person and usually throw a good bunch of mint leaves into any and every pitcher of tea! We are iced tea drinkers for the most part with coffee our chosen beverage in the mornings.
What gorgeous photos! Fall is a favorite time of year because of the vibrant colors, which your wonderful photos have so perfctly captured!
Ruth
What a great collection of yours!!So wonderful. Especially I like the one" goats chasing my car".
Have a happy November!
I love these great shots of Octobers past... Those cute little goats running down the road a soooo precious!! I have lavender plants given to me by a neighbor. Is there anything I should do to it before it freezes? Cut it off...whatever? It's the first I've ever had it...ideas??
I laughed out loud about your grandson's comment about the pie crust strips! I imagine you are going to be missing him in your home. I love the goats prancing down the road. Autumn is just gorgeous where you live! ♥
beautiful shots of October. You did have a good month.
Judy
Fabulous photos, Judy! Have you tried Earl Grey tea? It's my favorite, and I'm not much of a tea drinker either.
Those are worth posting again for sure! Love the two little black goats!
A fabulous photographic smorgasbord. What had you done to those goats? I find I'm drinking more tea and less coffee since I stopped smoking, but I still enjoy a decent coffee at the end of a good meal (without the cigarette). I don't know why tea should be so associated with Britain or, specifically, us English. After all, it's you lot who popularised the idea of a tea party. Mind you, the sight of all those tea terraces in Yorkshire is an impressive one.
Lovely pictures. Nice mosaics love the goats Chase in your car. How far did they go? Wonderful colors. Enjoy your day
I just LOVE your collages Judy and ooohh and aahhh over each one. ;) Love the baking with your grandson and his precious comments (be still my heart!). You've got a keeper there. Everything looks delish too!
I love orange and spice tea - that's my very favorite. I drink a lot of iced green tea, as I don't like that one hot as much. But I'm with you and NEED my coffee in the AM!
That goat photo literally made me giggle. Blessings. xoxo
Those goats are so cute!
Ha, the goats. That is a fun photo.
Fun mosaics. :-))
Carla
Wonderful photos Judy! Love the one of the goats chasing your car!!
Fun mosaics of October around your place. The goats crack me up. I love tea and hate coffee - there's just no accounting for taste, is there? We're all individuals.
Enjoyed seeing all the photos from previous years with the pretty Fall colors. Think those goats were looking for an apple or other snack. :-D
Thanks for stopping by. Big Sister was made up to resemble Stevie Nicks. She ended up not going to the event, due to rain. But that was fine with her, as she just wanted to hang out with some friends.
Been thinking about you lately and keep meaning to stop by and say hi. I love your pictures, such pretty Fall colors. Hope you and the family are doing well!!
:)
Rachel
What wonderful photos! The goats chasing your car is priceless--they can be such rascals!
Beautiful images....my favorite time of year. The winter will hold what it will hold....no use worrying about the weather.
It is so sad to say goodbye to October. You captured the essence of the month in your beautiful photos! We are having Indian Summer here in Upstate NY the first week of November. Today is supposed to reach 75 but back to normal in the 50's by Saturday.
awesome recap.
October was a busy month for you and we just have to accept winter is coming. Rather hard today for me when it reached 70F, we're usually in our winter coats by now.
That's funny to see the goats chasing your car, cute little things.
I have been a tea drinker all my life but will have coffee in the morning with hubby and then my afternoon tea break. Next week is the local Scandinavian church Christmas dinner and bazaar and I love attending it. The baked goods are so different and delicious.
What a beautiful post! Thanks so much for sharing it with me and my readers at You're Gonna Love It Tuesday. It was very popular!
