Cayenne, Jalapeno, & Carmens
October 5, 2011
I realize my blogging has been rather sporadic, but we just got our youngest son married off over the weekend. I am surprised at how much energy that takes, although we really had nothing to do with the planning, only the groom's dinner and the actual wedding itself. Still, somehow it's a draining experience.
Another blogger's brother was married on the same day. She wrote and asked me if I had recovered yet. I would say that I'm still working on it. Don't get me wrong, it was a beautiful wedding, we so appreciated all the friends who showed up, and it was wonderful to have almost all the family here (only missing Gus), staying overnight at our house the night of the wedding. I love that!! Oh yeah, Joe and his bride did not stay here. ;-)
And now, after all these years, Kevin and I are truly 'empty nesters.' Not that we were eager for Joe to move out or anything, but I've already brought home paint chips and plan to paint his room in the next couple weeks. That will make 3 guest rooms. Good grief! I should open a B&B!
When I can find some 'before' pics, I will write a post about the schoolroom makeover we did last week. Today I am washing clothes, canning the very last of the apples, and dicing and freezing peppers. It's a gorgeous fall day, close to 80 degrees and sunny. Wish we could hold onto that for a while.

Congrats on the wedding! I am so behind on your news! Sorry about that! We switched to beans, and I even got to sit in the driver's seat of the big green machine and cut beans for about three hours. Much nicer once my coach left the cab! Oye! Husbands are not always the best teachers! Shhhhhh! Or re-learners as is my case. Take care and can't wait to see what you are doing with your new space!
ReplyDeleteYour trees are beautiful! I forget how much color we miss in the city. I think we need to go for a leaf peeping drive!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how much energy weddings take! All the months of planning, the mad rush the last few days, then all the visiting with friends and family. Hope you recover soon! ;)
Everything at your place is gorgeous, just GORGEOUS!!! Joyful, radiant, happy, blessed ... :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the wedding and enjoy the beautiful fall weather!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful fall colors you have. Our leaves are still fairly green here in Pennsylvania. They should be changing really soon.
ReplyDeleteLook at all your peppers. I made crushed red pepper flakes with mine. I still have a few and need to make some more. Hubs likes it HOT!!
Such lovely photos, beautiful colors :)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you had been! Such gorgeous colors- fall is beautiful up there. If you open up a B&B we'll come visit!
