Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, Who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full atonement can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

'He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.' I Peter 2:24
'God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.' II Corinthians 5:21
"And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing." Beautiful, Judy! Thank you! Have a Blessed Easter!
I never hear this hymn in my church anymore but it demonstrates the bitter reality of what was accomplished by God's great plan and His willingness to suffer for us. Good choice of three scriptures that speak for themselves. In the correct context, have a happy Easter.
