Home Arts Magazine July 1936

I thought this was such a sweet illustration on the cover of the vintage Home Arts magazine from 1936. And I also wanted to get this posted before July is over!  Even 77 years ago kids and pets drew an audience, didn't they.

What a darling little hat!
And no flip flops?

Ten cents. Hmmmm.

I hope to get to your blogs later today. Right now I have three young grandsons who'd like me to hook up my laptop to the TV so they can watch SpongeBob. Normally I would suggest playing outdoors, but we're having a great rain, even as I write...

Oh how sweet - is that your image - or from online?
That would be so beautiful in a vintage frame!

Look at the shoes! Remember we thought their little feet needed support as they grew. Love the vintage top, the hat, the little outfit. Just brought a smile today!

How sweet! And I love that soap...I use it on my face! It's so mild and lathers up nicely! Enjoy your day and fun shows on TV! heehee!

Nowadays, kids would expect that top to come equipped with batteries and remote control. LOL! Ah, the good old days were quite wonderful.

The rain is very welcome here too, but it's still very warm. Our grass is very scorched from the heatwave. Shame the rain stops the kiddies from playing outside. Plenty to keep them occupied indoors these days. :-)

How fun! I am dying to know what kind of patterns are inside. (Vintage, for sure!) And check the price! To think you could have all that for a dime.

No crocs either!

And no flip flops...how funny. And do you know how many foot injuries are caused by those silly flip flops. I get goose bumps watching kids play sports wearing them.

No flip-flops..LOL I think those are for the beach or shower...not for walking in everyday. It's a cute little cover...worthy of framing. xoxo,Susie

Hi That is a lovely image and it brings back happy memories as I had a spinning top just like that one and loved playing with it.

So sweet. I remember that they use to make giant tops for children. At least them seemed giant when one is little. I don't know if it was originally mine or my parents' top. Of course I completely forgotten until I saw this image. So lovely.
