I used an outhouse - a true one- one time in the deep valley of a very rural Tennessee property.

Just wow is all I can say about the experience - how I appreciate my indoor plumbing and flushes!!!! : - )

Yep, up early today to vote. Great reminder. Thank you!

That's funny. You just reminded me, too, that I want to show off our vintage outhouse on our property. I do believe it is over 150 years there. Yes, do vote. And may the best man win. Deb

we had an outhouse for 3 years of my life, back in the mid fifties.. we voted last week.

Absolutely! You can't complain without voting! I like reading your blog. I have family in Wisconsin and reading your blog reminds me why I miss Wisconsin. Beautiful! Kathleen in Az

Growing up on the farm, we were not confined to an outhouse, but when we were playing outside we were expected to use it instead of coming inside for the indoor plumbing. My aunt on the other hand had only an outhouse when I was little, and you had to walk outside past a mean old rooster to get to it. I was mortified!

Which just goes to show that I don't love EVERYTHING vintage! hahaha! Enjoy your day my friend! Hugs!

Stopped to vote on my way home from dropping the grands at school! It is a privilege.

have used a few. :)

My parents have an old one in their yard and my mom has added a cute wreath to the door - I never knew an outhouse could be so "cute" :)

Hugs to you, Judy!

I like this! You bet I am leaving soon to vote!

Ah yes, the little house out back. My family used one when I was a child too many years ago now to count.

Hahahahaha! LOVE the title. Husband had to use an outhouse at his grandmother's house until the 1970s. She refused indoor plumbing.

Will be out to vote soon! Good reminder (and reason for voting!)

Great shot. Yes I bet we all have used an out house at one one time or other. Some fairly nice and some not so nice. MB

Heading out to vote now!

Oh yes...this brings back such lovely memories of my childhood. We had outside toilets at my church when I was little...I think they were about a 4-holer...lol! I am SERIOUS folks! If anyone is familiar with the Old German Baptists Church (sometimes called Dunkards)this is how I grew up. Many of you are from the parts of the country where the churches were located...a lot in the mid-west and heartland. I also used one many times at my aunt's house

Voting in an Outhouse. What a commentary on the state of politics, still. Now I gotta go pee...

Aren't you clever...posting an outhouse on election day! :-)

Made me laugh, Judy! Thanks for the chuckles!

I am glad we have moved on from outhouses!!

Surely this outhouse is not in use now!! I am heading out to vote in about an hour. Now we do not have to register this time, just present a picture I.D.

I grew up using an outhouse... don't miss it one bit.
I get to complain!

I have used out houses before...hate them. I like seeing the old ones now. I have seen where they have moved them from the hole in the ground and turned the house into a garden shed. Funny. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

That looks like it has glass walls.

I sure like outdoor showers, not the other as much.

My grandparents had one when I was a child.

Outhouses are not new to me but I sure don't miss them. My grandparents had a two seater at the cottage. LOL

Ha, outhouses. So many stories about outhouses. :-) Stinky ones too.

Love the colors behind the outhouse! We had an outhouse when I was growing up. Used it a lot in the summer. But we had an indoor one too so didn't have to go out in the cold.

I remember those cold vintage bathrooms especially in the winter:) Hug B

I voted early. I still reserve the right to complain about them! Glad to see so many of the Republican wins.

Do they have some of your soap in that Outhouse to freshen up the fragrance!
