There's a little pond nearby that I like to visit to see if the turtles are lined up, sunning themselves on the log. Unfortunately, when I approached, although being as quiet as I possibly could, they must have heard me. The many turtles that had been on the log quickly, one or two at a time, slipped into the water, out of sight. Even so, I thought I'd post the photos because I liked the color of the wild flowers and even the algae on the pond.
Swamp Milkweed
A brave one
I hope this turtle doesn't sue me.
Same pond, but photo taken last year at this time.
I must have been quieter last year, or maybe it was the direction of the wind that caused them to not hear me last year.

That's so neat! Love the "group shot!"
Ooohhh...that rosemary mint soap sure sounds nice! Love the wonderful photos. At least with turtles, they pose for a few minutes! Hugs!
i love seeing the northern turtles - they are so clean! our southern ones are covered in gunky algae since the water never gets that cold.
Lovely photos.
I have never seen a sight like that, just wonderful.
these are really really beautiful, i like the turtles and the details, but the green water and the flowers in the foreground make these really special...
We have seals and sea lions, you have turtles...Life is good Judy!
God bless,
I love your photos, and I think the two turtles who stuck around appreciate being your models and will not sue you for revealing one's backside! LOL
You live in such a beautiful place, to be able to find photo opportunities like these!
Wow! Judy, I love where you live. You have all these fields, old barns, various bodies of water, critters. And you take such great pictures of it all, I feel as if I've actually been there!
I love the line up of turtles on the log! Beautiful shots.
Hi I love these Turtles and their yellow stripes.
love these pictures.
These are crazy cool pics! I can't believe there are so many turtles in on place. We have them but not like that.
You did a great job capturing the turtles doing their thing.
the milkweed - is gorgeous. what a beautiful bloom. ( :
That was a lot of turtles. Are they close to your place?
Those are great shots. I love turtles and they look adorable all lined up on that log. Sunbathing I suppose :)
Isn't it fun to watch turtles sunbathe? We love to look for them at Green Lake when we walk there.
