Hodgepodge Brought To You By the Letter O

Afternoon coffee and scones with Mr. C.

1. What's the last thing you did that someone else thought was super?

My memory doesn't go back that far.

2. The last thing you ate that tasted superb?

The scones, pictured in the opening photo. I did buy some really nice lemons and am thinking about making lemon bars. I'll post my gluten-free recipe if I make them. It's not like I need a lemon bar, but the days are getting longer and somehow that triggers a lemon craving.

3. Supersensitive, superstitious, superwoman, superambitious, supercilious, supervisor, superficial...pick a super word from the list and tell us how it relates to your life in some way recently or currently.

Brought to you by the letter O

Superambitious (while my energy lasts), because I've been bitten by the downsizing, cleaning, pitching, and organizing bug. The Complete Book of Home Organization by Toni Hammersley is what started it. The book is full of beautifully organized photos, well-organized chapters, and great tips on organization, including storage containers for organization, and is laid out in a very organized format to help organize your brain and get one in the organizational mood. I'm hoping I don't run out of steam before I'm finished organizing.

I would post AFTER photos of all the areas I've tackled, but I'm pretty sure that most of you would insist that they are the BEFORE photos...

4. Do you love easily? If you're comfortable doing so, explain why you think that is.

You betcha.

Wouldn't you?

5. Valentine's Day lands on a Tuesday this year. Will you mark the day in some way? If you're celebrating with a dinner out somewhere will it be on Tuesday or will you celebrate over the weekend?

I will mark a few days beforehand on the calendar so that I don't forget to send the grandkids their Valentines. And we have some things going on, but not Valentines related.

6. What's something you are loving right now?

 Time with Mr. C.
A cold winter's day walk -
And I have earmuffs on too!
Plus fleece Cuddl Duds (long-johns and shirt)
Plus jeans and sweater
Plus insulated boots
Plus down-filled jacket
Plus thick fleece hat
Plus lined gloves
Plus heavy knit scarf

Mr. C. is wearing
jeans, shirt, hooded vest, jacket
gloves, shoes

I'm loving it that Mr. C. is around more (this is his slow season for work); that an Instagram friend gave me a code for the Emma Bridgewater mugs, which saved me a ton (otherwise, they're ridiculously expensive), also love it that Mr. C. and I are going to go to have a day out in Minneapolis soon, AND I love it that he and I actually got outdoors for a walk because the air temperature rose to a balmy 20 degrees F. I also love it that we are nearly finished with the book, The Day The Revolution Began by N.T. Wright. Life-changing. I keep wanting to call it 'The Day the Universe Changed.'

7 Write a three word (or less) phrase you'd like to see on a Valentine candy heart.

'I'm sugar-free'

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I don't have random thoughts anymore. My brain is a well-organized machine, incapable of thinking anything but rational, organized thoughts, contained in clear, plastic storage bins - labeled, of course. (See above)

Love your random thought! That book looks great. I would much rather look at the pretty pictures than do the actual work. Adorable pic of you and your Valentine! Have a great day, dear Judy!

Did you say 20 degrees??? Oh, my goodness, Judy...I'd never survive in that cold climate! Anything below 45 and my teeth are chattering.

We are having warm weather and the daffodils are blooming along with forsythia. Can spring be far behind???

Just have to say - those coffee mugs are just awesome. I think I need an Emma Bridgewater mug :-)

The mugs are GORGEOUS! I love them! Oh and the I'm sugar free would be nice. I have given up on chocolate...which sometimes makes me sad. There's nothing out there without sugar or Splenda and I don't eat either one. Enjoy your day. Have another cup of Java! Hugs, Diane

Personally I feel like lemon bars are never a bad idea : ) I love the mugs! Can a person have too many cute mugs? Enjoy your day!

Hello, The lemon bars sound yummy. I love your mugs and answers, great random thought too. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!

There's no need to post the recipe for the lemon bars. Just make them and send them to me. :) Those kitties! Cuter all the time. Goodness, but how do you move with all those clothes on? I think I'd just stay inside and admire all that wintry goodness from a window. I mean there's winter and then there's the arctic. LOL It's nice that y'all are spending time together. Love is nice, isn't it? Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Love the barn pic, love all your LOVES and you have so many. I have been sugar free for 2 weeks, so hard to do... me not the candy.
the super answer is Ginny at Let your light shine went overboard on compliments on my time post this week. Culver burger is always my superb answer.
last but not least is I love love love the fact that I am not doing all your loves with all that cold and all those clothes.

Saw a lemon bar recipe in the paper this morning. These lemon bars had a crust made with oreos or chocolate wafers, I forget which. That reminded me of a similar recipe (only the chocolate crust was not made with cookies, but was more of a shortbread like regular lemon bars). Think I need to look that up -- know it was in one of my cookie cookbooks.

So nice that your hubby is home more just now. Winter is the busy time for my hubby, so he is home much less than usual.

Great Hodgepodge today!

I thought those were Emma Bridgewater mugs - lucky you to have a code! They are gorgeous. A dear friend sent me one for last Christmas in July - Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday commemorative mug. Such a special gift and she knows me so well. Have a great week!

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I'm excited to be a part of the Hodgepodge each week. Today was my first attempt and I messed up on the link to my blog, so I'm glad you found me. I am reading the book you are on organizing. I love that book! I would love to hear more of what you are doing in that area. What an amazing thing to say, "I'm sugar-free!" I'm in the midst of trying to be, very hard. I look forward to reading more of your blog!

I like the idea of that home organisation book, although I probably wouldn't be organised enough to use it!
Still, I am having a go at decluttering and being .... hm... fairly successful.!

Great answers, all! Man...that book made me tired just thinking about all of that organization! That is what I need though...inspiration! Looks like a great book and hope to see some end results! Those kitties...can they get any cuter?? I love them and I don't even know them! Love the pic of you and your Mr. C! Enjoy the rest of your week :)

I love seeing your Emma mugs, Judy. I love the sheep one! We definitely don't have your weather, but we do bundle up when we walk. It's something we try to do every day. I hate telling you, but this morning we walked in 60 degree weather.
Good for you on continuing the organization task. It's still going on around here as well. Enjoy your day. xo ♥

Your cats look like the most loving creatures. Love your pictures and that is something you are super at.

I so need to get organized. Would you like to come and organize my house when you're done with yours? lol

Judy, Great photos as always. I love the cups you have. You and your Mr look so good. Hope you are both doing well. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Such pretty mugs! I love the sheep one. I just saw some of Martha Ellen's Emma Bridgewater mugs (on her blog) last evening. I am thinking that I don't need to explore these further. I don't need a new "want." (Or do I?)

I love to organize! It makes me happy. I need to reorganize a few things here, now that we have lived in this house for 3/4 of a year and know better how it functions. Doesn't it feel good to get things in order?!

Glad that you're enjoying some quality time with Mr. C this winter!

Those mugs are super! I love Emma Bridgewater too but even in the sales they are too expensive!
Thats a sweet photo of you and your Valentine enjoying time together!
Best wishes!

I always enjoy reading other people's hodgepodges. Should get on the bandwagon myself someday. I do love to organize. Clean, not so much. Wonderful you have your hubby around; mine is a CPA so this is tax time, and I don't see him much. And I admire your commitment to walking. I admit I've a bit of a slug in winter, and would rather hibernate in front of the fire!

Oh brrr...
Love the Emma mugs you are warming up with and those scones!
Glad you have some extra time with Mr.
I need to catch that downsizing bug soon!

Have a great rest of your week!

I like anything lemon...cake, pie, bars. The cuddly kitten photo is so cute. Makes me want a nap this cold weather! Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Those look like Emma Bridgewater mugs. Way to go on the downsizing, I need to start doing that! I just mailed out Valentine's to my great nieces and nephews. Love the barn.
