Keebler French Vanilla Creme Cookies

The Imposters by Nabisco

Keebler French Vanilla Creme Cookies, the kind made by elves, was my all-time favorite cookie! Where are they?? It seems that they've not been around since the '70s??? I can't even find a photo of the package, even though I did a Google image search! Evidently no one out there is saving an unopened package for a future episode of Antiques Roadshow.

Is there anyone else who remembers Keebler French Vanilla Creme Cookies? Anyone else who still misses them? Anyone who knows why on earth Keebler would take them off the market?

Have you tried the Keebler Vienna Fingers? Are they as good?  (Like I really need to find another cookie I like.)

And what about the windmill cookie? When I was little, it was one of my favorites too. I don't remember the brand. It had not only a great flavor, but a really good crunch and slivers of almonds (I think). When I was probably 10 years old, our family spent a few days at a resort and those cookies were sold at the little store near the lake. Maybe that's why they seemed to taste so good. Who knows.  Alas, the windmill cookies I find now do not compare in taste, crunch, or thickness. I have become a windmill snob.

Are there any foods from your past that you miss? Am I the only one who longs for a cookie I shouldn't be eating anyway???

I noticed also that seems like when really love something it seems to disappear off the shelves.

I'm not sure if I remember Keebler vanilla creme cookies, but I do remember windmills... you can still find them.. at least out here. I will splurge and buy a package like once a year, just for old times sake :)

Keebler must be a US company as I don't know them. I'm not to keen on custard creams but I do like a bourbon cream biscuit!

Ah, the food memories again. It's so, so hard to find a food that hits it "just right." My guess is that the windmill cookies probably used to have lard, and maybe don't now; but ya know, if I'm going to have the cookie I want it to be its best! I won't eat too many, I promise! Don't tinker with things when they work so perfectly already ....

The French Vanilla Cremes I remember (from my teens) came in a light blue package.

Oh, I miss the most awful food... it was a freezer breakfast "pizza" by Red Baron. A biscuit crust with gravy, sausage, eggs and cheese on top. My best friend's mom had them. They sound vile, but I loved them!!

Speaking of cookie reminiscing, why did they shrink the Girl Scout Cookies?!

i don't remember any of these, we never had bought cookies except for the rare back of Oreo's which i still love but don't dare buy. if i eat one i finish the bag by the next day. i miss my mothers choc chip and peanutbutter and sugar cookies, she made all three of those. i forgot we used to get in the vanilla wafers before she made banana pudding

I don't remember the first two but they look good - but they still have the windmill cookie - it is in a red package and there are just a few types of cookies left that they make and I forgot the manufacture. If I remember it I will send it to you. Sandie

Hello! Unfortunately, I've never tried these cookies... But I know how it feels when you're deprived of a certain food :) I still miss some Russian foods :)

One thing I miss is Quisp Cereal. I remember loving this cereal when I was a little girl. Haven't even thought to look for this cereal in ages! Great memories.

When my girl was little, I bought the windmill cookies with slivered almonds as she loved them to pieces. I had not even notice that now, they are no more. Shoot!

Yes! We're fans too. We actually had three packages we were saving, but they burned in a forest fire in 2011. It's sad to think they may have been the last of their kind.
