Who wouldn't want to be in England during lambing season!
We will be joining our daughter and SIL in London for a week of our vacation. We are so looking forward to that!
Rather than renting a car this time, most of our travel will by tube and train. It should be interesting. Since we each travel with only a carry-on bag, I will not be taking my laptop with me. Cranberry Morning will be on hiatus until I return to Wisconsin. It will seem very strange to go that long without blogging. Do you think that blogging is a type of obsessive-compulsive disorder?
York Minster Quire and Son-in-Law
By the time we return, we should have made many wonderful memories and have enough photo fuel for several Cranberry Morning posts.
NOTE:
HomemadeSoapnSuch.Etsy.com and HomemadeSoapnSuch.com will be closed from March 8 through March 26. Any soap orders placed between those dates will be processed on March 26.
Any orders placed before March 8 will be processed and shipped before we leave.
I will be taking a sketch book, a glue stick, and a fine-point Sharpie pen with me, in order to journal each evening. It will look something like this:
It's a bit messy, but great for dredging up the memories.
Unfortunately, due to a very full itinerary, we had to cancel tea with Cora, Robert, and Cousin Violet. Ah well, maybe next time.

Oh my goodness - I am so happy for you. I know how you love England. I hope you have the best time ever!
Leaving the cold behind is an awesome idea.. I am sure you will have a great time in England.. I will look forward to seeing lots of photos when you get back.. Have a safe and happy vacation.
Judy- I am so jealous! You will have a wonderful time, I know. I can't wait to hear about all you saw, did, experienced when you get back.
Do you think most people outside of Wisconsin think that Midwesterners have enough savvy to travel to Europe? I think most people think we hang out with the cows a great deal of the time and only travel to the local grocery store and Fleet Farm. lol
Have a BALL!!!! xo Diana
Oh Judy, I'm so happy for you! I know you'll have a wonderful time.
Alright, I am jealous!! Have a great time and I look forward to hearing all about your trip. And yes blogging can become OCD..lol. I tried to stop one time but found I really missed it.
Jealousy here - I want to go too. I know you'll have a great time and come back with lots of wonderful photos and fun times.
oh, i have no doubt you're going to enjoy every moment! yay for you!
Have a wonderful trip! England in the spring - beautiful! (from what I've read and heard)
Enjoy your trip! I do hope you will share your photos/experiences with us!
I know how you love England and you will have a wonderful time. Pity you are not coming to Northern Ireland.
fantastic to get away from home, to visit England and to get away from the cold... i wish you sunny days while there and a safe trip.. if i were there i would not be on my laptop. i would be madly snapping everything in sight. i would not miss blogging on a vacation to anywhere. to much to do. blogging is a big part of home life, but i am not that addicted to take it with me..
Oh this will be such a wonderful time for you - congrats - can't wait to hear all about it when you return.
Have a WONDERFUL safe and happy journey! ("Big Ben, Parliament") - have you ever seen National Lampoon's European Vacation then you will know what I mean there. Funny film!
I laughed out loud about having to miss tea at Downton. : - )
Oh that is just wonderful Judy! How exciting for you. I love the journal idea and adding 'souvenirs' to the pages. Yes, blogging is a serious addiction. I hope you are okay without your laptop for your trip. Don't go into withdrawal eh? You will have a fabulous time with your daughter and son-in-law and touring. I can't wait to hear about your trip. Enjoy!
I am so excited for you. My favorite place on earth! Have a wonderful time and safe travels.
Have a wonderful time - I look forward to reading about the trip when you return :-)
Have a wonderful time! You will be missed here in blog land.
Oh my goodness! So excited for you! March is the perfect time to escape!
Can't wait to see all the wonderful photos on your return! (I take it tickets have reached an affordable level?)
Oh, how exciting!!! I journaled during our trip to Italy, but I wasn't blogging yet (until we got back). It is a great way to save the memories and not forget that tiniest thing that made for a great day. I will miss you, but look forward to hearing about your wonderful trip, when you return! Will keep you all in my prayers for safe travels, good weather, and good health!
Have a wonderful time and a safe trip!
How wonderful! And I do hope you will take your camera and plenty of camera cards! I cannot wait to see what YOU saw! The church is beautiful and I wish I could be there to see the gorgeous pastoral lamb scene. Will you be gone two weeks? I will miss you. Hope you have a wonderful time!!! I think the OCD thing is all dependent on the person, not the technology.
You timed this just at the end of DA! It will be different for you by train but certainly doable -- we did it for three weeks with two little boys. I think we just had a back pack each. Both of you will enjoy the scenery since one doesn't have to watch the road while driving. And wonderful memory building with your kids joining you. Have a wonderful, wonderful time. Maybe the bluebells will be up.
Oh, this brings back good memories. We attended an evensong service at York Minster many years ago when our then small children and I accompanied my husband on a business trip to England. It was wonderful-I hope we can go back some day. Have a wonderful time!
Sounds like a wonderful trip Judy, and leaving the laptop behind will give you a good break from blogdom. Yes, it can become OCD but I'm always trying not to let that happen.
Safe travels and lots of photos to share when you return!
Safe travels! I look forward to visiting with you about the trip. Enjoy!
How fun and I think it is wise not to take a computer and be away from blogging for a bit :) Always a good break!
Enjoy!

Oh, have a wonderful time. I'm jealous! :) We are talking about doing a no rental car trip to England for our next adventure. I know you'll enjoy your kids and the trip in general!
Hi Judy,
I am so excited for you and Mr. Cranberry. Have fun and we must get together when you get back. The boys will want to hear all about your adventures and me too!!
Love You,
Carla and Family
My dear Judy, how wonderful for you! How I would love to go to England some day...
I hope you have a beautiful and relaxing time and come back refreshed :) Hugs to you!
How wonderful this all sounds! Have an awesome time! Soo happy for you!
Have fun...looking forward to pictures when you return.
Have a wonderful time ! :) Too bad about missing that tea :)
All the best! There is no need to tell you to have a blast, that's a given! I hear that spring in England is mighty fine so take lots and lots of pictures and prove it.
Hope you have a wonderful trip and bring back many glorious photos. And if you return to warmer weather that means it will likely be warmer here north of Toronto too. I'd like that. ;))
How very exciting for you and Mr. Cranberry!!
Yes, I do think that blogging can be a bit OCD...but once you go cold turkey, you'll enjoy the break. Your travel journal is a wonderful idea! I'd love to sit and chat and peruse yours over a cup of tea. It would take me a very long time though as I tend to linger over such things and read every word.
Safe and happy travels!!
have fun..Be safe
Have a grand time!! Love the journal too!
How exciting!!! I want to go to England with you!!! We lived in Heidelberg, W.Germany for 3 years in the 80s, but never made it over to the England!! One day!!! I look forward to your trip!!
I look forward to hearing all about your trip to London when you return! I'm sure you enjoyed visiting with your daughter. Safe travels!
I know you've waited a long time for this trip. Hope the schedule goes well and you meet lots of nice people :-)
I'm likening the roof of Kings Cross to another kind of Cathedral. Hopefully that's the train in the picture you will get on your travels north although the livery has changed a little over the years as the franchise keeps changing.
No doubt you'll come armed with SD cards and the scrap book that you did a post on before is an interesting idea.
Judy,
Have a grand time in England!
I do hope you get to see some sun!
I think the internet, maybe blogging in general, is a type of OCD :)
Enjoy!!
Have a wonderful trip, Judy! I can't believe you can do 2 or 3 weeks with just a carry on bag! Sometime perhaps you can tell me how you did that! lol
I'm anxious to hear about your travels; also does your daughter and sil live in London? How did that happen? Best wishes, Beth
Enjoy! Enjoy! And hopefully the weather here in Wisconsin will be much better and from the start of this week, it's looking good! Safe travels!
How wonderful! Have a great time, and I look forward to the photos. I love the sound of the musical experiences that you will have. The internet was terribly slow when we went to Italy, and the computer break was good.
Enjoy your time in England!
What a fun exciting way to get away from the ice and snow! My distant ancestors are from there, I would love to go. Have a great time, I'm looking forward to your photos.
Great idea for choosing March. I wish I'd taken a journal on our last vacation. Lesson learned! Sounds like lot of fun planned--enjoy!
WooHoo! I'm so excited for you! Wonder how you'll cope with such a long time away from "OCD" blogging.
Happy trails! It's lambing time in the Dales.
I am looking forward to your return post...have a safe and fun filled trip...take a lot of photo's. :)
Have a lovely vacation, and hopefully you will return to daffodils and the absence of snow!
What a great journey! I know you will have the best time. Love your journal idea. Hope you return to spring.
Have a fabulous time! I'm jealous, since I've always wanted to go there, but I hope you'll take lots of pictures to share ;)
That cow sign you bought in your last post is darling!
Love the photo of the cathedral! I hope you'e enjoying an awesome vacation!
Hope every minute of your trip is fabulous! Enjoy! And safe travels.
