Wisconsin Barns and Waiting for Spring

I took these photos of our barn and snow a few days ago. Nothing's changed, except we have a bit more snow now. I also love how the sunrise 'lights up' the end of our barn, so of course I have to share that with my blogging friends.

This is what I saw in the opposite direction.

Looking across the yard and road toward Neighbor Bill's

Looking southeast, from the south end of the porch

The dramatic light of the sunrise has passed.

Waiting for Spring

I took this photo on someone else's farm, but it so represents how I feel at the end of a long January and going into February. Bear in mind that we won't see our daffodils until the end of April, at the earliest.

Daffodils are such a cheering flower, aren't they!

Beautiful sunrise photos! They have been spectacular here this winter too. I really like the daffodil photo. I remember driving through a town in New England a long time ago and there was a whole gully blooming with daffodils among the trees and rocks. It was stunning. Enjoy your day.

The daffodils look wonderfully cheerful. I won't be seeing any here till late April or May, either. Thank goodness for photos! :) Love that rosy light on your barn. Beautiful.

Love the pic with the sun on the barn and that sunrise is absolutely beautiful. I will be replacing my tulips in my vase with daffodils this week. I love their sunny bloom. Hugs, LJ

mothere called hers jonquils and she had masses of them. i love yellow flowers, they say joy to me, like sunshine. i just came in from the back yard to show bob what the sunrise was painting behind me. i stand every morning and watch it glow red or gold or yellow. today it was golden and i turned to look west to see what it would paint. i got a great shot of the sun painting the dead leaf behind me. just like your barn... so beautiful

Yes indeed!! I agree....daffodils are one of my favorites, especially when they're mixed in a flower bed with iris. The Spring colors are highly anticipated.

Love the sky photos....absolutely stunning.

Lovely photos! Over here in MN we've had a lackluster winter, except for our big snowfall from the other day! Before that we had warmer temps and it actually felt a bit like spring!

As harsh as Winter can sometimes be, it is a beautiful season. Your photos definitely captured some of that beauty.

Good morning, pretty views, which remind me of my own place! We have been lucky so far, not such a bad winter this year, yet. If we can believe the groundhog he claims spring will be early. But he's been wrong so many times! I've been going back looking at my flower and summer photos lately too!

Your barn photos are always a delight to me. I don't know if I've ever told you that I have family living in the NW corner of Illinois farm country, still a "fer piece" from where you are. But as we drive there to visit them, I love the rolling countryside and the barns. Your pictures always remind me of that part of Illinois.

Such pretty colors in your sunrise shots. - Enjoy the shot of the cows by the fence too. - Yes daffodils are very cheery. Some of mine are up already but they won't bloom for a couple more months.

Oh, Judy...It looks so cold up there...all of that snow. Ours is melted but we are getting 7 degree temps this weekend. That is really hard on us. We are just not prepared mentally for temps like that. The cows do not appear to be letting it all bother them...but then cows are happy as long as they have something to eat. The sunrise is drop dead gorgeous. g
