I had to scroll back through several posts to make sure that I hadn't already shown you all of these photos. I can't find them, so we'll proceed, and if you've already seen them, you can just quietly move on.
All of these photos were taken from the old Roman Wall in York. It is fun to walk the wall to see what's happening, and to see York Minster from several different vantage points.
From Wikipedia: "Roman walls. The original walls were built around 71 AD, when the Romans erected a fort (castra) occupying about 50 acres or 21.5 hectares near the banks of the River Ouse. The rectangle of walls was built as part of the fort's defences.
"York has, since Roman times, been defended by walls of one form or another. To this day, substantial portions of the walls remain, and York has more miles of intact wall than any other city in England. They are known variously as York City Walls, the Bar Walls and the Roman walls (though this last is a misnomer as very little of the extant stonework is of Roman origin, and the course of the wall has been substantially altered since Roman times)."

What a life!
I wonder if he appreciates living in the shadow of York Minster.
If you look closely, you can see the Husky in the bottom right photo too.
And if you don't think it's a Husky, you can let me know.
Mowing the wall - remote control
Brilliant idea!
I'm pretty sure that I'd never get tired of living in that city.
I have several other Cranberry Morning posts devoted to York and particularly to York Minster, so if you think you haven't already reached a saturation point with York Minster and would like to see and learn more, feel free to type 'York' in the search bar on my sidebar. :-)

We will have to visit York one day. I'd love to walk that wall.
Your photos are always lovely to see. I remember taking photos of chimneys, they are a favorite of mine!
Judy, The things you have seen just take my breath away. I love history, so I truly enjoy seeing such views. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie
How beautiful and since I'll probably never go there, it is fun to see it through your eyes.
Brings back good memories of a trip we made to England in the fall of 1990-we spent a Sunday in York and went to Evensong at York Minster. Our children were small and we were young-good times!
these are simply amazing photos, i am torn between number 1 and the last one on my favorite. something special about the fence and all the spires on the buildings .. could not find the husky on bottom right, but he is beautiful... i wonder if our WALL will be as beautiful as this?
I'll never tire of seeing beautiful York, Judy. It's such a lovely town steeped in ancient history. Don't they have the most beautiful chimney pots dotting the landscape? Sigh... I think we both think everything is lovely in Britain. Have a great afternoon. ♥
I will never see it in person so your posts of beautiful England are the next best thing. The wall is pretty amazing. Never tire of your adventures!
Truly beautiful pictures, views . . .
I would love a visit to York and the wall walk . . ,
Thank you for the visit!
I always enjoy seeing your England photos, Judy! Thanks for the memories.

Judy- YOu just take the interesting photos, Judy. So amazing- I feel like I am right there with you. How lucky that you could experience all that firsthand. Hope you have a great night---and don't forget to set your clocks ahead tonight- xo Diana
I've never been to York so I enjoyed your photos. I think it's interesting to see the modern white fence alongside the old wall. Safety first of course! Hope you're having a nice weekend,
Beautiful pictures!!! York is so beautiful. Have you ever had tea at Betty’s Tea Room?
Beautiful photographs. I'm hoping to do an England trip one day and you've given so many places to add to my list.
