Weekend at the Beach - more or less

The grandkids playing at the backyard beach

I think the photo collage above pretty much sums up our weekend: We were with our daughter's family and it was wonderful spending time with them. They kids are a delight - and the weather was gorgeous!

Have you tried the Lemon Oreos?  I'm warning you now: They are dangerous. I have never eaten a tastier cookie. And the first one always makes you want more... ... ... ...

Of course I had to catch a quick pic of that barn.

The two framed fish charts are from our SIL's father's bait shop from years past.
They're beautiful charts. I hope they find some wall space for them.

After we returned home last night, we were out on the front porch to check out Mars, when Mr. C. pointed out the faint orange glow on the eastern horizon. I ran to get my camera, my little point and shoot, and it was accidentally still set on the macro automatic setting. It's not a great photo, but it's sure a lot better than I was expecting with my camera. After I discovered that it had been on macro, I set it to the regular auto setting (Yes, I should read my manual sometime) and when I took photos on that setting, all I got was a more defined pale yellow disk, none of the shading or the orange color. I thought that was so bizarre. So then Mr. C. dragged out his camera after the moon was a lot higher in the sky and yellow. He took a few photos with his. They were AMAZING. Unfortunately, he hadn't taken any of the moon as it was first rising. Too bad, for I think his next opportunity will be next month.

Great picture of the creamsicle moon Judy. My cousin who is a pro took one as well and yours is as good as his!!

It was too cloudy to see that...what lovely photos though, thank you. As for Oreos, we are boycotting them, the company has moved 600+ jobs out of country, sad to say. (won't go there)

Have a beautiful day, friend.

Good times! And a beautiful photo at the end. I forgot to look for Mars but noticed how bright the moon was last night once the storm clouds cleared.

Lemon Oreos? I'll look for them.

I forgot all about the full moon last night. You captured it well with your camera.

I should heed your warning, but lemon sandwich cookies are my favorite. I'm sure I'll be trying these soon.

Beautiful pictures. I so love seeing all your pictures on Instagram too.

Oh no...I was able to walk past those lemon Oreos in the store but now I'm regretting that decision. Have you seen the thin oreos?
Lovely weekend photos!

A fun collage of visiting grands. Those fish charts are beautiful works of art. The full moon was hidden this weekend here although it's been sunny in the day hours....and hot. I'm loving this burst of summery weather. Have a good week ahead Judy.

Hello, the grandkids are cute. The sandbox is almost like the beach. I did not know they had lemon oreos. Your moon shot is gorgeous, I love the color. It has been too cloudy here to see Mars.

Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!

Looks like fun! I love oreos and I love lemon, but I really want my summer clothes to fit, so I will stroll by next time I see them in the grocery.

Lovely moon shot! Sounds like you had a fun time with your family. I haven't been able to find the Lemon Oreo's but I am sure I will like them when I find them.....

What fun you had with the kids! and we noticed how orange the full moon was too. Looked like a Harvest moon, didn't it? Enjoy your week! Hugs, Diane

It looks like you had a very enjoyable time, Judy...I'm sure the grands had a fantastic time as well! No, I did not know these lemon Oreos existed...thanks...now I will surely have to buy some to see if they taste as good as you say they do :P Last night, I had my camera out and ready to catch Mars and the moon but it was too cloudy after storm still. Our moon was also quite yellowish in color. You certainly were able to capture it well! Enjoy your week!

This full moon has been so bright and beautiful! Your photo came out beautifully, Judy

Our sandbox has also been getting lots of use, too, by the grandkids as the weather gets warmer.

Lemon Oreos sound dangerous ...lol

Oh, what a beautiful shot of the moon! I'll have to try that 'technique'! We've had solid clouds, so I never got to see the full moon. Love seeing those sweet little grands. Time for us to get a sandbox - my grandson turned 1 years old already! The fish charts are wonderful and the lemon Oreo's do sound delicious.

I'll have to try the moon on macro. Not bad. No I have not tried the lemon Oreos. But thanks for the warning. Glad you had fun at the "beach"!

What a fun time. The kiddos look to be enjoying themselves. Mmmm Lemon Oreo's, I haven't tried them yet but I love lemon so I think I'd enjoy them. I think that was a fine shot of the moon. I get horrible shots of the moon with my camera.

Some great memories made "at the beach" and that moon photo is pretty amazing!

Awesome astronomy shot. I must admit I've never seen lemon Oreo's. I'd expect them to be rich in flavour given what the chocolate ones are like.
