Anglophile Friday - Snow in Yorkshire

York Minster in a real snowstorm

 More real snow

Notice how it's snowing sideways! It was a very windy day and we were on the top of the Minster, looking down at the town. It was the first time I can remember that I didn't complain about freezing to death. Oh wait. Maybe I did, but just a little.

More real snow - York

Yorkshire/Scottish Blackface Sheep

Yes, what you see above is a shameless attempt to PicMonkey (did you know it's now a verb??) snowflakes and frost onto the photo of my favorite sweet sheep so they could be included.

I've only used PicMonkey twice, so it won't be a problem for me - but I'll admit, it was easy to use and FUN! I was wondering how they could do this for free.

You did a good job putting the snow in the sheep photo! I like playing with Picmonkey too. Beautiful, beautiful shot from the Minster! Wow! Reminds me of a photo we took of Venice, from the top of the bell tower in St. Marks Square. Wishing you a good day!

Beautiful, stunning photos! I love the one of the minister tower. From the ground one does not realize how impressive it is.

I once went to Yorkshire in January. I thought it very cold. Someone told me it would be like San Francisco, and wow, they were wrong. I thought I was going to freeze to death in Bath.

There's a little snow in NJ today, and while it's pretty it does not compare to this : )

Merry Christmas!

Hi Judy, Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog post today. I enjoy your photos of England in the snow.

We had/have some real snow, too. Ten inches of the white stuff, along with 40 mph winds. Hope that is it for this winter. We should be so lucky. Stay warm.
P.S. Loved the pictures. Very pretty

I took a shot of York from the same place you did only it was summer. I framed it and hung it on my landscape wall. I love all those red roofs!
