Tommy's Cherry Jam and Tommy's Cherry Butter

You might have seen this photo on Instagram, but I thought I'd post it here as well. I thought the pretty Emma Bridgewater robin mug was perfect to use for my coffee with my homemade biscuits and Tommy's Cherry Jam and Tommy's Cherry Butter (from Door County).

Although I managed to choke them down, the biscuits were terrible, more like white hockey pucks, really. But the cherry butter and cherry jam make even a hockey puck tolerable, so I persevered.

I would give you the recipe for the gluten-free biscuits, but really, they were that bad. So I'm going to just keep it to myself and try a different recipe next time. Even a Saltine cracker would have been better. But that cherry jam and cherry butter? They're outstanding! (and they'd better be, for the arm and leg they cost to purchase them).

We spent the weekend with our daughter and family who live in Wausau. It had been stormy earlier in the day, but the clouds moved out and the full moon rose to give us a very pretty walk along the Wisconsin River with a view of the beautiful sunset over the river on one side and the full moon on the other side.

The next full moon will be the day after my birthday, but I'm expecting the family here for that weekend, so we can probably get the moon walk in at least close to the actual full moon date - if we have clear skies. It's worth trying to keep that appointment with the moon.

It's Carla's fault for getting me started on this moon thing. Thank you, Carla.

Moon walks! Now that's something special! We watched the moon rise from inside our gazebo last night.
That jam and butter sound delicious! So you are an August birthday! Im September! How wonderful to celebrate with family!

Love the sunset!

That jam does look good. I am not sensitive to gluten, though I mostly avoid bread products. I continue to enjoy all of your photos on Instagram.

Great photos. Love that sunset. Your cute dishes should have helped the biscuits taste better. I have made things that have been a disappointment too. The cherry butter sounds so good. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

A moon walk?! We're not talking Michael Jackson here.... Sounds lovely! The jam looks delicious. Hope you can enjoy more on something other than the hockey pucks!

Moon walks sound like a great tradition to begin. I did gaze at the full moon from the bedroom window - so I had to walk upstairs. Does that count? Cherry jam is so scrumptious!

Not every recipe is a winner, and its better to be honest about it... hockey pucks, lol! That cherry butter and jam looks amazing! I just bought 25 pounds of cherries, and froze them to use in smoothies, that seems to be our favorite way to eat them. The picture of the sunset is gorgeous! What a lovely idea Carla gave you, she is a precious friend to have :) Hugs to you today!

I don't think I've done a moon walk (apart from my well known Jackson impersonation) since I was a student. GREAT idea! Cherry butter? - I need to find out what that is. For some reason, your last post disappeared from my feed(s) - the lasagne looked delicious...

I am intrigued as to the difference between cherry jam and cherry butter? Glad that whatever the difference they were both good! Beautiful sunset!

Sorry about the hockey pucks...I don't know how you gluten-free folks manage as that's what most gluten-free products taste like to me. I think I'd have to simply go without period. As it is, I have cut back bread consumption to a minimum...a weight contol measure more than anything.

That final photo is stunning!

we walked in the moonlight at 4 am today and yesterday in our back yard. looked like a giant flashlight shining in the pool and we drove in the moonlight to the YMCA and stood outside with our friends admiring the moon. we are asleep in the night time moonlight. that cherry butter looks amazing, I went to their web site and they don't have labels that say sugar content.. I pay almost that much for Allfruit at Publix. I can't eat sugar free because of aspartame and can only eat all fruit with no added sugar. but I love all things cherry... ha ha on the hockey pucks. I wondered why they were hard and round until I got to the words gluten free.

Hello, the jam does look delicious. I missed the full moon, it was cloudy here. You sunset shot is gorgeous, what a pretty river scene. Happy Monday, enjoy your day and the new week ahead!

I make really thin biscuits so maybe that would help...I don't cook gluten free so I don't know what the recipes have in them. But the coffee mug is so beautiful and you've taken a very pretty photo! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Diane

I giggled at your description of the biscuits -- at least they were good for making images! Ha! ;) ;) I love cherry anything and would love the jam and butter. I'll have to go looking for a cherry butter recipe. I love Emma Bridgewater and the robin mug is on my wish list. I like the idea of moon walks. Happy Monday!

Judy, I am laughing. Girl, when a plain dry saltine cracker is better then that dang biscuit must have been some kind of bad! LOL! The sunset is so pretty. My man would love the jam. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Last night I saw an amazing full moon as we drove back to our viacation home here in Orlando, I don't think I've ever seen the moon looking as beautiful before.
Love you EB mug, I have several of her designs but not that one.
Sorry you had to spread your cherry preserves onto hockey pucks, what a trooper!
Happy Mosaic Monday!

Oh a moon walk sounds so romantic, Judy. The thunder moon has been quite elusive to us the last few evenings. Too much cloud cover. I must tell you when I read your title I thought your kitty Tommy helped you with the jam! I love your sweet EB robin mug! Have a great week. ♥

Beautiful sky ... and the mosaic is yummy looking anyway... think of the biscuits as perfect photo props instead of food, as if you were a professional food photographer (which you could be, based on these photos!). I have long had a goal to photograph every full moon in a year, but have never even come close to meeting it.

Hee Hee ... I love it!! Moon walks are so much fun! And the TePaske clan think they are best with Cranberry Morning and Mr. C. :-)

Do you have several EB mugs and other wares?
