I think that the scent of Pumpkin Spice is high on the list of everyone's 'fall favorites.' We like it in candles, we like it in dessert, we like it in room fresheners, we even like it in coffee! And now that same luscious scent is in our natural, handcrafted soap for your shower or bath.

Leaving skin soft and silky, our soaps have only quality base oils, quality fragrance and essential oils, and natural colorants. No animal products are used in our soaps.

September

I can't believe it's already the 10th of September! The grandchildren have gone home, and I only wish they lived closer so they could visit more often. The beans and tomatoes have been canned, there are 26 little containers of basil pesto frozen for the long winter, and I'm getting potting soil today in order to pot my lavender, thyme, oregano, rosemary, lemon verbena, and basil - in order to try to winter them over on the window sill. We'll see if that works this year. Some years it's very successful, and other years one or more of them dies off.

There are still the carrots and the squash to deal with, when the time comes. And the raspberries need to be cut back. If I'm lucky, I'll remember to plant garlic in October. It's just such an odd time to be planting anything, that most years the month slips by before I think of it again. I'm making a big mental note: PLANT GARLIC. We use a lot of it, and I don't care for the little dry bulbs we get at the grocery store.

So, back to September: I think it's become my favorite month of the year. October used to have that honored position, but it's just a little too close to you-know-what. September weather should be nice, we've got the Asian beetles under control, the garden is winding down, and it's time for campfires and walks in the woods (once we have a hard frost to get rid of the mosquitoes), it's finally cool enough for Bridger to enjoy being outdoors, and the time of year when Wisconsin's oaks and maples get ready to give us the annual color show.

This year we got about 10 apples, for we got a hard frost after the tree had blossomed.

I'm also looking forward to this month because my cousin Bobby is coming from Montana to visit us!  Our mothers (both gone now) are sisters, and Bobby and I are more like sisters than cousins. It's always fun to spend time with her. Our brains zip around on the same frequency, which makes for some interesting conversations. Unfortunately, we both have the same problems with word associations and other silliness that keep us entertained for hours.:-)
