Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Thanks for the shamrock, Lydia!

Here's the lovely basket of goodies I won in Lydia's Giveaway!!
All such pretty things...Thanks, Lydia. ♥

And now a few photos from my backyard (taken this afternoon) as we eagerly usher in spring - if only the snow would stop falling!!

 Our sidewalk, March 16, 2013

Bless his heart, Kevin keeps that boardwalk shoveled. What a good man! I know I complain about the snow, but I think that we've had more than our fair share, (Good grief! I can even hear a whiny voice saying this!) and this white stuff has been around since November. It doesn't snow and melt, like it does in some places. Oh no, NW Wisconsin likes to hang onto its snow! And it's starting to get on my nerves!

 Our driveway, March 16, 2013

But then I think of Pam (EmptyNest) and Jenn (Jenn's Food Journey) and realize that I wouldn't want to be heading into 80s or 90s this time of year. What I suspect will happen this spring is that we'll get about 2 days of spring and then summer will be here. That happens quite often.

With all this snow, it's a little hard to get excited about planting garden seeds, but I need to get that done tonight or tomorrow afternoon. After all, if we can trust history to repeat itself, springtime will actually eventually arrive and those little seedlings will need to be ready for planting in the garden the beginning of June.

I think I'm only going to start Carmen peppers, Early Girl tomatoes, Poblano peppers, Jalapeno peppers, Cayenne, and  maybe another variety of tomato.

Are your garden seeds started? What did you plant?

Have a great St. Patrick's Day!

I do not miss snow, at all. I do, however, miss having a garden. There are too many critters and bugs here in Florida, to make having a garden worthwhile. I planted tomatoes and lettuce and got none of it - we just fed the animals and bugs. Farmers' Markets are on every corner, though, so I really don't do without good produce...just the joy of having my own. Lucky you!!

Thanks for the mention! Glad everything arrived safely! I would be tired of the white stuff by now too. Just a teeny bit left here-- mud is taking over :(

Wow...I do NOT miss the snow! The trees are leafing out here, the daffodils are in bloom, and the next week's forecast is all in the upper-60s to lower-70s. Come visit again! :)

It's been beautiful here the past few days. We ate dinner on the porch last night and then sat out there listening to music and sharing a bottle of wine until bedtime. It's back down to the upper 40s/50s today with forecast of mostly 60s this week. Not quite as nice as the 70s we've had but I'll take it. I haven't started any seeds. I decided to skip that and buy plants instead. I hope to get at least one of my raised beds ready this week but I won't plant for another couple of weeks, just to be sure we don't get another freeze.

Good grief, that IS a lot of snow! I'd be whining about it too, LOL.

No garden plot at our place anymore - not since we downsized and moved into a villa home. Those days are behind us now! We sure do miss the fresh veggies.

Happy St. Paddy's Day to you. May the sun come up and bless you and melt your snow.

Oh dear all that snow would get to me I fear. It was in the 70's here and I planted petunias and verbena in my grandmothers old rusty cooking kettle. I wish you some sunshine.
I want to tell you about our church's Easter tee shirts 1,500 of us were given to promote our Easter service today. It says "It ain't your mama's Easter service" on the front and "Uprising at Easter TNC" on the back. I had a prayer answered today because my sister and nephew attended. hugs, Olive

Nooooooo!
I'm glad snow has melded away finally. But you never know, it might snow in April as usual.

I cannot get over that snow. You have so much. We are going to be in the 80s this week. Does it get muddy when it melts?

Goodness! That is a lot of snow left! I was getting all excited aobut Spring and how the snow was melting..... this morning we woke up to snow, which was suppose to be rain. I think I will go buy a few daffodils or primroses for spring cheer. Certainly can't count on mother nature to be on time! Lol! We got so spoiled last year.....

We've still got lots of snow. In fact, more came down today. I'd rather be cold than hot. I can always put on another layer or blanket. When it's hot, there's only so much you can take off.
