HomemadeSoapnSuch Giveaway! (It's About Time)

Hi Bloggers and Instagrammers:

I'm hosting a Giveaway of my handcrafted, vegan soaps, from now through Friday night at 10:00 PM CDT.

There will be three winners, each of whom will be able to choose TWO soaps.

This is open to all who follow me either on @cranberrymorning (Instagram) or on this CranberryMorning blog.

Please visit either my HomemadeSoapnSuch Etsy shop or my HomemadeSoapnSuch website and let me know (in a comment on this post) which TWO you choose, should you be one of the winners. You're all winners in my book, but you know what I mean.

Also, in the comment, let me know how you follow CranberryMorning. If you're an Instagrammer, please include your Instagram name.

So:  Must be a follower of this blog or @cranberrymorning on Instagram
Leave a comment with your two choices and how you follow me.
Leave an email where I can reach you, should you be one of the winners

Giveaway closes 10 PM Friday, CDT. Winners will be announced next Monday, October 31, here on CranberryMorning.blogspot.com.

Thanks! And Good Luck.

P.S. On Friday night, Mr. C. will put his little paw into the magical Giveaway hat with all the entrants' names in it , and with eyes closed, will draw out three names. This is as scientific as we get. But we don't cheat. Hey! No peeking, Mr. C.

Last Train to Westby

When we visited Westby this week with our granddaughter, we took a drive into the Clinton Township area, just east and north of Westby, where you'll find a huge Amish community. The farms are beautiful. When we came around the curve (one of a gazillion in that neck of the woods), I had to stop and get this photo. I love the color and contours of the cropland.

These people have managed just fine without electricity and the modern conveniences. Their farms are beautiful, ten cows seems to be the norm, and they have huge gardens and a division of labor that works for them. The children are not sitting around playing computer games, but are working. I think in our modern society we tend to think of work as child abuse, rather than as a gift of contribution.

I didn't know before that the pointy-top is a silo requirement - in this particular community anyway.

Lydia, getting the long-awaited motorcycle ride. I thought Eric's fluorescent shirt was a great idea for motorcycle wear!

With soapmaking, a trip to Westby, canning beans and tomatoes, it was a busy week.  We also saw the movie 2016 last night. If you haven't had a chance to see it yet, I'd recommend it. It's a very interesting documentary (and I happen to love documentaries!)

We will be taking our granddaughter home today. I hope she can come back soon!
