Christmas Cactus
Still going strong.
January 19
I suppose I should have moved the dog bed before taking the photo. Oh well, maybe next time. When everything's white and cold outside, it's such a blessing to have some things alive, bright and beautiful in the house (besides the dogs and cat).
My brother once asked me why I had so many plants. This is why. It is a sign of hope that springtime will eventually return with all its life and beauty. Next week we're expecting a string of days with high temps below zero degrees. That's right, high temps below zero - it's not a typo. I will be sitting beside the fire, reading your blogs, reading my new books, enjoying my Christmas cactus, and looking over the seed catalogs.
