Winter Wonderland Arrived December 3-4

Cranberry Bush Outside Our Office Window

Fence surrounding the base of the cranberry bush
Keeping bunnies away, hopefully

The weather has spent yesterday and today turning our neighborhood into a winter wonderland. It's beautiful! And that may be the only nice thing I say about Wisconsin's winter. And technically, it's still autumn.

Frosty Fences

I seem mostly motivated to hibernate, set up the Christmas tree, and listen to Christmas music. John Rutter - Christmas Day in the Morning, Christmas With the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Field, and Jessye Norman's Christmastide are currently on the CD disc changer. Three of my favorites. I have a lot of Christmas favorites.

I was going to clone out what's left of our little McIntosh apple tree, but decided to leave it in the photo. The deer enjoyed it. They left only a few 6" stubs of branches above the top of the 'protective' corrugated pipe. And still I was rooting for them to make it unscathed through hunting season?!

waiting to be decorated

Since it's going to be in the 70s here today--we are having strange weather--I am enjoying your beautiful snow scenes.

As much as I hate the cold, snow really can bring so much beauty to the world... and of course, you have captured that beauty very well... almost makes me wish I was back in the midwest to enjoy a snowy winter!!

Such a gorgeous view you have!! I am happy, however, to be sitting here in sunny Florida, where we will see 82° today.

Beautiful, Judy. I'm a little jealous. I hope we get some snow this year.

Beautiful snow pictures. We've been unusually warm here in D.C. so thanks for sharing your winter wonderland pics. :)

Really does look like a wonderland. No snow here yet-- actually had some rain yesterday. "The Snow Eater--" very funny!

Brrr, but so pretty. The snow makes things looks so pristine at first. Please take care if you go out. We are suppose to get snow today and tomorrow and possibly ice mixed...that's the scary part. xoxo,Susie

Very pretty! We are currently getting sleet which is supposed to change to snow overnight. We aren't supposed to get more than an inch or two but on top of ice it's going to be treacherous. I'm staying home today and, like you, I'll be listening to Christmas music. I'll check out the ones you mentioned. I'm always looking for more music to add to my Spotify Christmas playlist.

it is SO pretty, but i'm cold today so it doesn't look that inviting. :) love your pup.

So pretty! The cold swept down to here. It is 39 outside and it may get only into the 50s today, which is cold for here. I bet your temperatures were below zero!!!

I think your dog likes the snow. We are now in a deep freeze and our snow is sticking not melting off. The skiers are jumping for joy.

Oh I saw your storm on the news. What a Winter Wonderland! Now if people would just remember how to drive in the stuff from one year to the next, things would go much better. It is perfect decorating the tree weather!

Beautiful friend.
Sure wish you could send some my way.
Woolie Blessings

Oh so beautiful! I love all the photos. The one of the view to the fields is gorgeous. Our snow is melting and rain is in the forecast. But, it will return. Enjoy!

I was thinking of you yesterday when I saw the weather. How much did you get? I think it might be our turn next, they haven't decided how much we will get on Sunday.....

Why is snow so beautiful up in Wisconsin. I am not kidding. Love the rolling hills. Gorgeous.

We have been watching alll the snow you have gotten on the news!! It is lovely, as long as you're ready for it!! Hope you are safe and doing well. It certainly isn't something you want to venture out into!!

Snow...Mac the Corgi is the only one hoping for it! Actually his owner (that would be me) likes a white Christmas too but will be satisfied with the movie! We have an arctic front blowing and 18 degrees F...Not the usual weather for this island who has its own atmospheric system!
Keep warm and hugs to Misty!

Judy, your photos are gorgeous! I especially love the one with just the little shot of color from the birdhouse. You need a nice steaming bowl of soup!

Great photos! I love how your grab the red in each photo.
Happy Winter!

Boy, Your view is just beautiful, Judy. I love how you overlook all those gorgeous fields. We did not get nearly as much snow as you did but the wind off the bay here has kept us around zero degrees the last couple of days. UGH. I see your tree!;>) xo Diana

Hi Judy and good morning,
Now THAT looks very nice, I do miss having snow at winter even though I know it's very cold and sometimes a hassle keeping it off the roads. But it brightens up a bit.
Have a lovely weekend!

Hugs,
Eva

We are in the midst of a winter storm now. It is a good excuse to pause and be still, stay home and eat soup. Your pictures are beautiful!

You know I love all your photo's, Judy, but these are my favorite! Absolutely beautiful!!

Georgeous! Unfortunately, we are expecting significant freezing rain today. That's treacherous for the Little Rock area! I'm praying that it will not meet the expectations of the weather forecasters. We are one of those cities that can fool the best of them. Last year we had an unexpected 10" of snow on Christmas day!

Nothing prettier then a fresh snow fall! Gorgeous photos! Really gives you a Christmasy feeling!

Love that view off your deck! We don't have snow yet, it's late this year and I can't wait! Thanks for sharing your beautiful pics!

Although you have a very long snowy winter, it is beautiful, and I am so jealous! Whenever we get snow it quickly turns to slush so then I'd rather we had a good few weeks of 'proper' snow than a week of our slush!

Judy, these are such beautiful and tranquil pictures. Love the wreath covered in snow.

We are having it as well, but not as bad as you. I do not like the cold. However the snow does make for some pretty sights.

Snow pics are even more beautiful when one doesn't live in it:) The one with the cranberries and the birdhouse I love, because the red is the punch of color!
