Sunset on the Highway

Heading west out of Cameron on Hwy 8

We were on our way home from Eau Claire on December 29, and when we got to this spot, I asked Kevin to please stop the car so I could get out and take the photo with my new cellphone. Stopping to take advantage of these opportunities doesn't always thrill him, and usually I get out alone with the car to hunt down good photos. But this just presented itself and wasn't going to last long, obviously.  Looking at the picture, I can tell that we got most of our snow in January!

Are there ever times when you feel compelled to screech to a halt and take a photo?

oh yes to screeching to a halt, i go the best sunrise ever by stopping... the sun going up or down only last a few seconds.... and i have been known to drive around the block to snap something, like a tree trunk carved to look like a bear... LOL... great shot... hubby doesn't care for my sudden stops either.

Glad you stopped and shared this marvelous photo. We often stop/pull over to get a shot when out driving.

Not very often, though I'm sure that exquisite scene might have done it!

What a fabulous photo with your cellphone! We were just talking about newer cell phones this morning and how much more you can do with them. I'm always taking photos out the window. Most of the time we don't stop! lol Enjoy your day!

I would have stopped too. The colors in that sky are incredible.

That's a gorgeous photo.

When we use to live in the country we use to stop to get photos.

Now that we live in the city, not so much. My daughter took a photo of a strange advertisement the other day. I don't like her snapping photos, because I don't want people we don't know in them.

I'm leaving for a baby shower so this will be quick. We have a lot in common with the love of God first, and then hubby of 35 yrs(about),animals and farm life. And don is the one to stop where ever he is to take that special photograph. Maybe even 9 or 10 of that same thing. I'll be back because I want to order some soap. bye for now.

Blessings,

T.

I'd say this is definitely a "stop the car, so I can take a photo", photo. Gorgeous!

I do that all the time, Judy. Screech to a halt- and I usually wait till the car stops moving before I get out. Doesn't WI have some amazing sunsets? I was amazed when I moved here how spectacular they are! xo Diana

Most definitely can't miss a photo opportunity like that, great photo.
There are many times I say I wished I had my camera with me!
I stood by the sea wall recently, with many others I might add, when there was a tidal surge. Not the greatest idea but I couldn't miss the opportunity to see and photograph the sea as high as it was!

I do this quite a lot and hubby has got used to this now. That sky is beautiful and no wonder you had to capture it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. xx

Yep, I would have stopped that beautiful scene too! Great shot! And I ask DH to pull over all the time. Sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't (even though he is a photographer too).

Hey stranger! I got caught parked in the middle of a county road taking a picture. After I was finished, I looked up and saw some nice person patiently waiting for the to get the heck out of his way! I forget every once in a while that we are not completely alone out here in the boonies!

Trying to catch back up and get back on the blogging horse. I hate to say it (because every time I do, it seems to ramp up a notch), but life has been crazy busy around here! Knocking on wood right now! Hugs!

What an amazing picture! Every morning when I drive to school I wish I could stop to take a picture... that is when we don't have a storm!

Wow, you took that photo on your mobile phone?! That's really impressive!!

I find it's rare that my photography skills can even come close to capturing the beauty of God's creation, this is beautiful though!

Great shot. At specific times of the year I drive to work towards the sunrise. The main civic centre building is silhouetted in front of the backdrop. Unfortunately its on a motorway where I can't stop. One day I'll have to be a passenger !
