Blueberry Chocolate Chip Scones Recipe

Mmmmm. My favorite!

I actually did make these to send to my daughter for her birthday, and she got almost the entire batch. It's very hard to resist fresh scones.

BLUEBERRY CHOCOLATE CHIP SCONES

2 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar (Next time I'm going to make them with 1/8 c. sugar.)
2 1/2 t. baking powder
1/4. t. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. mini chocolate chips
2/3 c. HalfnHalf
1 t. almond extract
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 c. dried blueberries, dusted with flour
OR 1 pkg. (6 oz) blueberry juice-infused Craisins

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in butter.

In a small bowl, beat egg, halfnhalf, and extract.
Add chocolate chips.
Mix all ingredients together, stirring until mixture is just evenly moist. Do NOT overstir.
Drop large spoonfuls onto greased jelly roll pan
Bake 15-18 minutes at 375 degrees F.
Remove from oven, let cool for 5 minutes on pans, then remove.

These will disappear quickly.

Optional: Powdered sugar glaze (not pictured)
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 T. halfnhalf
1/2 t. almond extract
Drizzle over tops of cooled scones

Makes 11 large (3"-4") scones

Clotted cream would be a good idea too.

Do you see why I had to eat one of these??
Okay, two!

Yum. You had me drooling with the mention of chocolate chips and blueberries. These look amazing. You were good to only have eaten two. I could probably eat the entire batch.

Delicious! Blueberries are one of my favorites! And chocolate! What could be better! I have made something similar, they had a tad more flour in them, so you rolled and cut. I also used evaporated milk instead of half and half.

Whenever I've tried scones they turn out heavy and dry. Any tips?

Never heard of this before. Within reason, I like anything within blueberries in.

They almost look like they might be good for you.
By the way, I'm not sure of the proper pronunciation for Jervaulx. I always say Yervoh but I might be wrong.

I just love visiting your blog! This recipe looks delicious! I am going to have to make this recipe! Thank you for your comment about visiting my Dad's grave. That co-worker was talking about her mom when she said there would be a day I would no longer think about my Dad. You were right in saying it was insensitive. I hope you are doing well my friend! My cousin was visiting from Spain and asked me about your soap that she really loved! I will be ordering some for her soon! She loved the raspberry soap. We all love them! :) Have a great night!
